Damn, Keith Tippet work with KC is awesome... my fav. from the list nowadays is Dave Stewart, sweet melodies, awesome progressions, great soloing and the guy knows how to make the organ roar.. followed by Kerry Minnear
Oh my lord, I almost forgot Mr. William D. Drake!!!

I saw these a few years back but have not managed to include them in my library. I have never heard anybody utilize the pedals like that. Its amazing how much they sound like an upright bass.

Wakeman, Emerson, Banks are really my all-time favourites. A poll would be interesting including only these three. But as they are excluded from the list, it is hard to tell. I really like the piano and keyboard work of Rick Davies (Supertramp). But also of Rick van der Linden (Ekseption), John Tout (Renaissance), Peter Bardens (Camel), Keith Tippet (King Crimson), Patrick Moraz, just to name a few. But they are all not on the list, strange. I think I won't vote on this poll.

I don't understand how this poll wouldn't have Tony Banks in it. His sound was so essential to the greatest prog group of all time. Great sound, tasteful and restrained playing. I can't believe he was left off the list along with Emerson and Wakeman. No, I don't like this poll.
I said exactly the same at first (about the Poll and Tony Banks), but look at the lines over the poll...
Tony Banks best keyboardist ever... great performer and great songwriter.

RICK WRIGHT: Maybe he wasn't a virtuous player but he was a great creator of musical atmospheres with his keyboards, maybe in a way that anyone else did.
Certainly a great musician.Wish You Were Here has amazing textures thanks to Mr Wright.
Agree. But the same happens with Echoes, Sheep, Us and Them, Brain damage, etc. and Division Bell as an Overall thing.
The intro to Sheep is amazing and Echoes is superb without doubt but for me WYWH (the whole album) is still Rick's 'shining' moment.
Don't forget See Emily Play, Jugband Blues and all the early PF work.

Yeah, that's what I thought too Most of their early stuff (... i.e. up to Meddle, my fave period!) couldn't have made it without the trippy Farfisa solos and eastern improvisations of Mr. Wright.

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution
