To me that would be the same as to admit that mindless chart pop is good music, because it is so paska that it is a great new style. Unfortunately I can't see the art in that, to me it is just a waste of time.
Watching it in the cinema I (and my wife) laughed out loud (raucously) through-out the film and were shushed by the other cinema-goers around us who would turn around and frown at us every time we laughed. Whether it was an intentional black comedy or not it was funny, even the cartoon violence, the banal and inane dialogue, Travolta's awful dancing...

I don't know. I don't see anything stylish about the fact that Winston Wolfe was writing things down on paper, or Jules buying Ringo's life, or " 'please' would be nice", or Wolfe saying that "respect for one's elders gives character". I suppose that it is safe to say that the film, in that respect, is a spoof of itself, just as an element of comedy.

The point is style. Tarantino is a hack that lifts other peoples stories, strips them down, and makes stylish new versions that fans can claim hold deep meaning due to their aimless nature.
Reservoir Dogs, for example, is City on Fire (a 1987 film from Hong Kong starring Chow Yun-Fat):
That's actually Tarantino's best film as he didn't even bother changing it, at all. You know, except for maybe that dancing/ear cutting scene with all the deep meaning.
I found Waltz's character pretty annoying. Unfortunately, I don't remember any comic scenes in this movie.
It's not a comedy but certainly have some funny moments, like the one i have posted, americans posing as italians with the worst ridiculous accent ever. About Waltz's performance, it was simply stunning, he was my favorite character which is strange regarding my origins, certainly deserved his awards.
Yeah...to each their own but I gotta agree, not sure how anyone can think Waltz wasn't brilliant. I also found the movie pretty humorous...it's just not outright, it's in that Tarantino "you laugh because it's so purposely awkward" style

I know that there's not much originality these days and my guess...is that Tarantino does it to make a point or poke fun...but all his movies are like, blatant parody or homage to past. I get it's purposely campy...just not my thing.
People have admitted this, big time fans usually nod and say "Yes" and "if you're not a movie buff it's harder to like him since you don't get the context and etc" Not my cup o tea is all. Guess I don't get it
There were some pretty sweet scenes from Pulp Fiction and Rez Dogs.
Really? I thought Waltz was f**king brilliant. Part of what made the movie for me.

Of course Pulp Fiction is THE masterpiece, but recently i have watched inglorious basterds several times and it is superb, i'm posting a sample of one of my favorite moments, so funny.
