Which Tarantino movie do you prefer? I just chose the movies that he directed, since he did produce a lot of them. I'll go for the huge classic "Pulp Fiction".

I know everyone loves him and if you dont you're stoned..but I just was never into his stuff.
Pulp Fiction I never watched again, didnt like Kill Bill. Reservoir Dogs was alright..

Though I DID like Inglorious Basterds
So as the only one I liked, guess thats my vote!

Reservoir Dogs is decent, which makes it by far his best effort.

I'm actually watching Jackie Brown right now... I haven't seen Four Rooms but I've seen his other movies and like them all.

I probably would've picked Kill Bill if it were listed, mosty because all the Ennio Morricone music he uses (and some Luis Bacalov) It goes great in the movie.

Inglorius Basterds also has a lot of Ennio Morricone too.  It annoyed me that he used 1 or 2 of the same songs he used in Kill Bill though.  But I did read he started working on Inglorious Basterds before Kill Bill...

I'm torn between Pulp Fiction and Inglorious Basterds... I'll give the vote to Inglorious Basterds though.

The first few minutes of Reservoir Dogs are the only part of his work that I'd spare from a fire. Everything else can go up in flames and the world would be a better place.

Sin City

*Kill Bill if listed*
Pulp Fiction
Reservoir Dogs
Death Proof
Jackie Brown
Four Room

*every awful movie ever made not in this bunch besides Battlefield: Earth*

Inglourious Basterds

*Battlefield: Earth*

The only movie by Tarantino that I have ever liked was 'Jackie Brown'. So my vote goes to that one.

'Inglorious basterds' was pile of sh*t and same can be said of 'Kill Bills'.  Confused

It's interesting to me that Inglorious Basterds is doing so well in the poll, and yet so many people have expressed outright hatred for it. I'm surprised it's so polarizing. Anyway, I love it.

Pulp Fiction just a little over Reservoir Dogs. Liked Inglorious b*****ds, but not as much as these 2.

I´m going with the masses here. Pulp Fiction is easily his most accomplished work alongside Reservoir Dogs. The latter being a step on the way to Pulp.
Although I like Kill Bill and Inglorious Basterds, especially the whole kung fu, ultra violence, sex, tits and blood, plus the spaghetti western thing he infused IB with - he seems to have peaked at a very young age.

1. Reservoir Dogs (every time. by far, his best film.)
2. Pulp Fiction
3. Inglorious Basterds

Kill Bill did nothing for me. Thought it was rubbish. Death Proof was a cool concept, but executed poorly IMO. Haven't seen Jackie Brown all the way through, but I liked what I did see. Never saw Four Rooms. Sin City was cool, but yeah, not really a Tarantino film.

I would go for Pulp Fiction, but everything is does is so original and brillant that to see any of his movies is a great experience. It seems to me that this director have decided to make the movie he wants regardless of any bad feedback he can have from the fans or the critics. The dialogue on his movies are very original, his great use of flashback and how he mix violence and humour, with some great cast and good music.

I would of picked Natural Born Killers if it were listed.

Odd? Don't think so, the first is more action oriented, and the second got a lot more drama and emotions. The character on the second are more developed.

Pulp Fiction. His best jigsaw puzzle ever. The most entertaining of all of his films. Every time you watch it to the end, you come to new conclusions, you understand more.

I found Waltz's character pretty annoying. Unfortunately, I don't remember any comic scenes in this movie.

I know that there's not much originality these days and my guess...is that Tarantino does it to make a point or poke fun...but all his movies are like, blatant parody or homage to past. I get it's purposely campy...just not my thing.

People have admitted this, big time fans usually nod and say "Yes" and "if you're not a movie buff it's harder to like him since you don't get the context and etc"
Not my cup o tea is all. Guess I don't get it Cry

There were some pretty sweet scenes from Pulp Fiction and Rez Dogs.

Really? I thought Waltz was f**king brilliant. Part of what made the movie for me.

It's not a comedy but certainly have some funny moments, like the one i have posted, americans posing as italians with the worst ridiculous accent ever. About Waltz's performance, it was simply stunning, he was my favorite character which is strange regarding my origins, certainly deserved his awards.

Yeah...to each their own but I gotta agree, not sure how anyone can think Waltz wasn't brilliant.
I also found the movie pretty humorous...it's just not outright, it's in that Tarantino "you laugh because it's so purposely awkward" style

I don't know about theft over originality, but style over substance? Do you even understand the point of any "story" in the movie?

Posted By: manofmystery
Date Posted: April 22 2012 at 23:26
The point is style.  Tarantino is a hack that lifts other peoples stories, strips them down, and makes stylish new versions that fans can claim hold deep meaning due to their aimless nature.
Reservoir Dogs, for example, is City on Fire (a 1987 film from Hong Kong starring Chow Yun-Fat):
That's actually Tarantino's best film as he didn't even bother changing it, at all.  You know, except for maybe that dancing/ear cutting scene with all the deep meaning.

Disapprove I don't know. I don't see anything stylish about the fact that Winston Wolfe was writing things down on paper, or Jules buying Ringo's life, or " 'please' would be nice", or Wolfe saying that "respect for one's elders gives character". I suppose that it is safe to say that the film, in that respect, is a spoof of itself, just as an element of comedy.

Oh, well, this probably should be in a different thread.

P.S.: Homage or stealing? Ask Tarantino.

I don't want to watch unnecessary violence in a movie, and that was practically the main idea of that film. Even less am I interested in mindless banter that a big part of that movie's dialogue was. I still remember (I saw it in early '95) sitting in a movie theatre sighing aloud of boredom, and my then wife quietly trying to shush me. I nearly walked out shouting "what a load of scheisse".

For whatever reason, I've had encounters with people who seem to treat this movie as a religious object, that they defend. I've been told that I'm wrong, because the movie is excellent, and that my attitude is wrong, and that I just refuse to admit how ingenious the dialogue is, because it is so trivial it becomes a piece of art. To me that would be the same as to admit that mindless chart pop is good music, because it is so paska that it is a great new style. Unfortunately I can't see the art in that, to me it is just a waste of time.

Watching it in the cinema I (and my wife) laughed out loud (raucously) through-out the film and were shushed by the other cinema-goers around us who would turn around and frown at us every time we laughed. Whether it was an intentional black comedy or not it was funny, even the cartoon violence, the banal and inane dialogue, Travolta's awful dancing...
