She's no Beyonce, but she'll do. Plus, Poker Face is still a listenable song.

Like I always say, if Gaga sounded like she dressed she'd be a darker and sleazier take on Björk.

I am currently digging:

Hawkwind, Rare Bird, Gong, Tangerine Dream, Khan, Iron Butterfly, and all things canterbury and hard-psych. I also love jazz!

Please drop me a message with album suggestions.

I don't mind Ms. Germanotta's music, even if her hardcore fanbase is annoying as hell. That's usually the case with pop singers who are more artistic than usual but not at Björk or Kate Bush levels of intellectualism. (see also Lana del Rey, Faye Wong etc.)

I saw Waltari ("undefinable" metal band) cover this famous 2unlimited song last year in Le Club in Paris. That was quite fun.

I meant that HE (Equality 747-242) should tell ME to stop listening to the music I like, not the contrary. He can even listen to 2 Unlimited or Eiffel 65, I wouldn't care.

Nah he shouldn't. Gaga has her fans. This IS the general music section, people should be allowed to talk about whatever they like.

I don't like Gaga. But there's way worse. As been said, I will give her credit for participating in the songwriting process (she doesnt write her songs entirely on her own though) and for having vocal and piano talent, and for being a bit smarter than your usual pop diva.

I still hate her music. I think she wastes her talent. She's the Dream Theater of pop music basically.

No, seriously, stop talking about Lady Gaga, it's becoming an obvious case of forced meme.

I don't tell you to stop talking about music you enjoy.

You should.

I agree.  The fact that she writes all her music and doesn't use auto-tune already puts her miles ahead most other pop stars out there.

I think Justin Beiber writes his own songs as well, so I see hope for the future for these artists.
Question is, how will the song writing develop and will they go in directions away from commercial mass-manufactured pop? Which I've never cared about.

To sit in the Libertarian thread.

I'm not talking about musical preference but artistic merit. Yeah that's also subjective, but it's a healthy topic for debate.

If you think no subjective opinions are worth being compared or dissected why even join a music forum?
