I'll take Radiohead but I'd rather not state my opinions of the other two.
Anyway Johnny Greenwood is a classical composer too, which gives him a huge advantage for me (even if he's not even on my list of top 50 classical composers)
Classical music isn't dead, it's more alive than it's ever been. It's just not on MTV.
I like some songs of Muse, Radiohead and i only enjoyed Cold Play for a couple of months. They are all very different kind of bands, Radiohead being a more experimental prog, Muse is much a mix of classical and pop elements, as for Coldplay, they have a more predictable sound that doesn't appeal to me. Right now i would pick Muse.

I gave my vote to Muse. I am not crazy for any ot them, but at least Muse did some very good easy listening album, and probably are the most proggie of the three. I really don't understand why so many here like Radiohead; Ok computer was ok, and just the only one I can listen without falling to sleep; I rather prefer the "pop prog" of Viva la Vida than all the Radiohead's discography...

What an excellent poll! Three of my all time favorite bands! I'm going with Radiohead because they speak to me the most and they'll always be my #1. Coldplay and Muse tie for a close 2nd.

Seem to have missed this thread when it was made. Radiohead by miles, OK Computer would be in an all time favourite album list for me quite comfortably which I can't say about the other two. But...

I actually like Coldplay, but in these pages this feels like I am admitting to unspeakable sex crimes. I cannot understand why they elicit such strongly negative opinions (Coldplay, that is - not the unspeakable...erm..). They are constantly being accused of being bland and wet, but to my ears they are far more melodically inventive than the likes of say...Journey, Boston, Styx or countless other middle-of-the-road, easy-on-the-ear rock bands - many of whom are quite highly rated on this website. 'The Scientist' is a great track! And Viva La Vida has some genuinely progressive moments. I also like Chris Martin's voice - I think its brittle quality conveys far more genuine feeling and emotion than old foghorn LaBrie for instance.
Yep, I am not even all that familiar with Coldplay but I agree with a lot of what you said. I don't really get how the same people who heap praises on the voice of Gabriel or Hodgson (or Steven Wilson for a modern example) would HATE Martin's voice so much because it's broadly the same kind of high pitched sentimental British singing. Eminently preferable to La Brie for me, not that that's saying much coming from me. Yeah, I am definitely more sympathetic to them than middle of the road rock or, eek, 80s pop metal. Their arrangements show a semblance of change from song to song whereas it's a bit difficult for me to get super excited about the macho buffalo bellows dumb lyrics-obligatory ear piercing tasteless shred guitar solo checks in - buffalo boy returns routine now that I have heard it more times than I could care to mention. On similar lines, I am relatively sympathetic to U2 though once again I am not well versed with their material. Even if they are not as inventive as Radiohead, at least they try. I heard Viva La Vida for the first time on a flight trip where it was part of the music catalogue in the in flight entertainment. It was a pleasant surprise and I was far from bored. Meant to return to it but somehow lost track.
