It was definitely on Brit TV because all the original albums came out on the BBC label and I remember seeing it when I was a kid
![]() Cheers for posting it - great to see it again

Many of my faves already mentioned (Argument Clinic; Dead Parrot; and the one soliciting fellow mountaineers on an expedition). So I'll boost "How Not To Be Seen".

^I looked that up some time when I remembered seeing (and loving) it on one of the Monty Python's Personal Best dvd's but finding out it wasn't included in the Flying Circus series. I think it was only done for some German special episode or something, please correct me

Some that spring to mind.
The mountaineer who plans to scale the twin peaks of Kilimanjaro. Remember that one?
The milkman sketch.
Eric the half-bee.

Yeah I do. I remember seeing it on TV and it's definitely on one of the LPs they released in the 1970s It was some sort of kiddies fairytale parody title, most of it read by Eric Idle as i remember, maybe simply called "Storytime"
The simple errand went like this: Prince begs to kill dragton but was ordered to "Go dowm the fag shop and get me 20 Rothmans" Unfortunately he got hit by a bus on the way back so all was in vain.
The same sketch featured the tale of Ricky Ticky the Magic Pixie who lived in Dingly Dell under the shade of the woolly dumdum tree where he... sold contraceptives. CUT!!!
Oh what fun we had quoting this sort of stuff at school the morning after

I actually prefer the Barber sketch that preceeds the lumberjack song. I've been watching so much Python lately. Just remembered the Self Defense Against Fruit sketch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piWCBOsJr-w I'm trying to remember the name of the story with the princess with wooden teeth, her father who sang and played the Hammond organ, and the prince who got to marry her after running a simple errand. "What? Now??" Anyone know what I'm referring to and what it's called? I'm dying to watch it. |
