There's nothing wrong with Never Say Die. All the Dio albums are miles ahead tho.

Yeah, 'Technical Ecstasy', or 'Never Say Die' are by far the poorest Sabbath albums; yet people accept them just because Ozzy was in the line up, but neglect the far superior Dio/ Martin albums that followed those two dogs.

I like their 1st LP and Sabotage. You can also find an exelent movie from their Paris concert of 1970.

ozzy years: sabbath bloody sabbath/volume4 and master of reality

dio years: heaven and hell/mob rules

gillan years: the one and only born again (great album, horrible cover)

tony martin years: headless cross and tyr

in my opinion the best 5 albums of black sabbath are:

1) headless cross

2)heaven and hell

3) sabbath bloody sabbath

4)tyr

5) master of reality

AND TONY MARTIN HAS A MUCH GREATER VOICE THAN OZZY

I have a copy of Sanctuary Records' remastered Paranoid CD, and I've noticed that the lyrics in the booklet are nowhere near the correct lyrics. Quite funny, and quite ridiculous at the same time. They might as well put the correct lyrics so the customers would get something for their moneys worth. What a shame! Anyone else noticed this?

As Tony Iommi was the only constant in Sabbath throughout their chequered history, the above statement is true. Whilst the Ozzy material is deservedly the best loved and also the best material, I think the Dio albums are all superb metal albums too, and am surprised at the lack of bad albums in the catalogue- I guess you could argue 'Born Again' was but I love that album personally- though 'Seventh Star' is a bit flat in parts.

Of course it's real Sabbath. Black Sabbath is Tony Iommi, not Ozzy...

I've come to some appreciation of Black Sabbath, late in life, as a result of
my kids' interest. Ozzy's vocals are still anemic, but Iommi was brilliant in
ways I didn't appreciate at the time.
I can have double standards, and you can't
