I voted the Lamb because it was released 5years before The wall, but for me the first great concept album, mother of all of them,it is Aphrodite's Child-"666".A fantastic album without any coment like Euronews-No Coment

I can strangle a canary in a tin can and it would be really original, but that wouldn't save it from sounding like utter sh*t.

The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, is my favorite concept album/ double album.
Followed by Tales From Topographic Oceans
followed by the wall.

If I had to choose between TLLDOB and The Wall, then it would be the first of the two.
Dark Side Of The Moon is on a par with The Lamb, though. That's one of my favourite concept-albums, together with Nude by Camel and Casino by Casino.

My oh my, another difficult one. I bought The Wall when it came out, on double tape. I was 20 at the time, and I wasn't too impressed with it. Too gloomy for me at that time. However...through the years I have learned to appreciate it more and more. Every track is excellent, with singalong melodies, brilliant musicianship, superb production, and biting lyrics. It gels together wonderfully, has a dark, yet clever storyline, and is the complete package. Put it up against almost any album and it would get my vote.
But. The Lamb was, and still is, my favourite album of all time. So much atmosphere, melody, and brilliance in one earth shattering recording. So no contest.

The Lamb! although I find the concept lyrics of

The choice was easy because The Wall is musically a very weak album
compared to PF's masterpieces... Btw I like the song Comfortably
Numb...
Those 2 albums can't be the mother of all concept albums. We all know
what where the prototypes: Sgt. Pepper, Freak Out, Tommy etc.

Now way, the concept in the Lamb spans most of the early Genesis
albums concepts. It wraps up all of the early Genesis material. Read the
lyrics to "it" and connect. Maybe you'll know what I'm talking about. The
lamb is my favorite album so obviously I went with that.

Sadly i havent heard The Lamb... so i cant compare them but the best concept albums i have heard are Scenes From A Memory and Universal Migrater (pts 1 &2 together)
I know im going to get a pasting for Ayreon but i think its a great concept.

Eskimo - The Residents
If I have to choose between The Wall or The Lamb I'll go for Lamb Lies Down.
I think Genesis were still at their peak when they produced this but Floyd had moved past their's with the Wall.

The Wall can't be the mother of all concept albums simply because when
it came out (1979) most part of concept masterpieces had already been
produced!

The wall has diversity, creative composition and songwriting only in just a few songs. Also, the style is way more conventional than Lambīs, with absolutely no prog.
The Lamb is a step shy from the top of Genesisīmost creative stage. A band that had always been more original than Floyd, with much more imagination and songwriting skills.
The Lamb is way better of course.
