You could try using different software for ripping? Exact Audio Copy works like a charm, and it can be configured to rip music into all kinds of formats.

Can you get around that by copying the CD and then ripping the tracks from the copied disc? Or does it copy the protection too?

A friend of mine at work has just bought the Velvet Revolver album (takes allsorts!), but, he can't rip it to iTunes/his iPod. He gets a message saying the album is copyright protected, any ideas anyone?
