Waters whines all throughout The Wall, and while that album may be my favorite of theirs, the irony is that I prefer Gilmour. I miss the days of prime Floyd when Waters was humble enough to realize who the better frontman was and allowed Dave to sing his lyrics for him.

I mean, when Gilmour finally chimes in during "Comfortably Numb", I realize just how much better he is at the whole singing thing than Roger. Sorry Roge, you may be a better lyricist, but Dave has you beat both in musicianship and vocal ability.

I've got to abstain on this one.

Aside from what you die-hard Pink Floyd fans say, The Final Cut is one of my favorite albums of all time, and Waters's vocals on that album, prolific as they are, are emotionally powerful ("The Gunner's Dream" and "The Final Cut" stand out in this respect).

David Gilmour's On an Island makes me want to go to the beach every time I hear it, and I think his vocal on "Dogs" is superb.

As for Wright, I've got to say I like his also.

I thought both sang on Welcome To the Machine...

Gilmour is too soft and Waters is too harsh but the combination of the two is great. Add Wright to the equation and the result is fantastic.

difficult, kinda like David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar (or not like that at all, take your pick).. I give it to Roger for feeling, evoking many images and doing a great job even though he's not really a singer

Gilmour has a much smoother delivery.

Maybe Gilmour is a "better" singer, but I find Waters' vocals much more interesting.

David Gilmour, as Waters can't sing at all. (nor can he play the bass)

Right.... It was Dave that whole time.

Anyway, I voted Gilmour. (Although, Waters IMO is the better musician)

Actually David said in an interview he'd played like 90% of the bass on the records.. going way back to Meddle etc... :P  Anyway, I don't agree with that guys comment at all, I like Rogers singing especially on Animals.

But, how can you say Waters is the better musician? He's an amazing lyricist and writer... but I think Rick Wright and David Gilmour was were the real musicianship was at in Pink Floyd.

oh yeah.. Waters..  think Wright actually was better singer than Gilmour anyway

LOLLOLLOL

Waters for me too - Gilmour as a singer is vastly overrated IMHO.

Also, for the title track of WYWH, he didn't write a single note, he just delivered the lyrics and David Gilmour wrote all the music. And I don't believe it's coincidence that the best song on The Wall, namely Comfortably Numb, is co-written with David Gilmour.
So stop the nonsense about R. Waters did everything! Without David Gilmour's guitarplaying, PF wouldn't have been so popular. If David had left PF, that would have been much worse than the departure of R. Waters

There was a band before David Gilmour joined, remember?

For years I thought Time and Stay (and what else?) were sung by David Gilmour!

I think Pink Floyd is the best singer.
