If it weren't for America, there'd be no Fender or Gibson guitars. But thanks for those Marshall amps, guys! |

Hey I would be the first person to stick up for Britain, afterall not only have I been in love with a British man most my life, or is it the home of my favorite music... but my last name is Heath, my other grandparents surnames were Waters and Gray. I have a feeling my blood is English.....

The tiny country of Norway has actually managed to produce some of the world's greatest artists, chief among them Ibsen of course, the father of modern drama. Then there's Edvard Munch, the father of modern painting. Throw in Grieg and a few others (like Nobel prize winners Sigrid Undset and Knut Hamsun) and we have actually had rather a great impact in the realms of the arts over the last 100 years or so for such a tiny place.

Thats my point to Pixel... even with less than 300 years to pull from, I could quote you just as many names...
Greatness shows no biasness. Davy Crockett has his place in the history of this country. He was our first celebrity.. http://www.comedyontap.com/pantheon/crockett/crockett4.html Its funny tho, I wonder how many of us would even have th chance to communicate as well without one American.... Bill Gates.. Ane whether or not you like Andy Warhol, Velvy.... he was an artist.. no doubt about it. A very strange one, but he's very well liked worldwide... Edited by threefates |

I agree , somewhat with you Europeans on the cultural supremacy. Like you said, Pixel, you have 5,000 years to choose examples of. What do we have? 400+ years. Really no contest. Perhaps we should only peer back the last 400 hundred years for our examples. Europe would still wipe our tails with that comparison too..So now let us break it down further....USA vs any what country in Europe the past 250 years. Suddenly the comparison becomes much closer.......maybe, perhaps we kick your tails. I mean now many cultural icons does Norway produce Pixel Pirate? |

I'm puffing away right now,Gdub! And my America bashing ends here and now! I simply cannot singlehandedly shoulder the responsibility of defending 5000 years of European culture and history, and since I actually have a great admiration for the American people (in general |

Oh manni, honestly. I shouldn't have to answer that. Which country has produced the best rock prog rock music? England. Which out of our two continents have produced the best classical composers? Europe!! America has spawned some fantastic writers, I must admit, but lets be honest we had Shakespeare, all the romantic poets etc. Thats what I refer to as cultural supremecy. The fact that the world has since embraced Big Mac culture is not a credit to America, but more a discredit to everyone who indulges in it. Then there is cuisine & wine. Which continent produces the finest wine? Europe. Forget that dusty Californian rubbish, its only a step away from Jacobs Creek Aussie muck Why do our top minds leave and go to the US? Because they go on vacation there and get kidnapped and chained to a Harvard desk and told to produce plans for weapons and world domination for sinister underground masonic Zionist organisations run by the likes of Donald (666) Rumsfeld....ok now I'm getting silly. I Might have made that last bit up.. Happy New year to EVERYONE! |

Every time I see a British gangster portrayed on screen I laugh my a$$ off. Although they do probably have less concern about their teeth being knocked out. |
