Maybe its just because its New Years Eve. Maybe its because I'm slowly getting drunk, but I thought I should take this opportunity to invite all American forumers to have a pop at Europe.
I count myself as European - not just English, and I love all I've seen of Europe. I have immensly enjoyed my limited experice of the USA too, but its only fair, that in light of the yank bashing that has occured here of late, to which I have indeed been party to, IT'S THE YANKS TURN!!
BRING IT ON, AND KEEP IT CLEAN!! well, reasonably..
Happy new year to everyone wherever you are..

What is the point. You guys only bash, because of your insecurities, jelousy, envy and failings.
Your spite is like an intoxicating drug to me. It shows our ultimate success and your utter failure. Nobody fears and reviles the weak.

All this generalizing really is regretful. Not to mention pointless. I am one man, one being. I do not align myself with any religion, political party, racial profile or financial community (I am, however, blatantly heterosexual) and to count me in as a target is disrespectful, inflamatory and downright rude.
If you want to jump on individuals, corrupt politicians, hypocrits and lousy musicians and artist passing off crap as art, go ahead. Please stop the brainless generalizing, it serves no purpose, but to inflame.
If you think I'm an asshole, send me a PM and say so.
Europe? I've always wanted to go and visit, see my great-grandparents homeland, the castles of Poland, drink a pint or two with Diddy and Jim and shake hands with Dick and Easy. I have no desire nor intention to disrespect any of you, simply because of the roll of the dice that determined where your were born.
I love history. Every piece of this world has some and that is something wonderful and a reason to celebrate it, why waste our moment in time talking sh*t about perceptions and ignorance.
Peace.

Good god. In this very childish manner of mine, I shall express my opinion on this.
Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken.
Living in America ( ahem, United States ) and being born there does not make you an American ( United Statian ).
People are not to be blamed individually for the political doings of a
country, nor the mass culture mentality. And since you are under no
circumstance capable of targeting the entire nation -- why try?

Anyway, my anscestors come from Europe (Ireland and Hungary) so it seems silly to bash them. Bash America all you want fellow members of this world. It is what you do the one that is on top. I love living in California and I can't think of any place else in this world I would want to live. I would love to vist as much of the world as I can but see little hope in that. I really have nothing bad to say about the rest of the world except this country was created and formed by people who came from the rest of the world. We are you.

Oh manni, honestly. I shouldn't have to answer that. Which country has produced the best rock prog rock music? England. Which out of our two continents have produced the best classical composers? Europe!! America has spawned some fantastic writers, I must admit, but lets be honest we had Shakespeare, all the romantic poets etc. Thats what I refer to as cultural supremecy. The fact that the world has since embraced Big Mac culture is not a credit to America, but more a discredit to everyone who indulges in it. Then there is cuisine & wine. Which continent produces the finest wine? Europe. Forget that dusty Californian rubbish, its only a step away from Jacobs Creek Aussie muck
Why do our top minds leave and go to the US? Because they go on vacation there and get kidnapped and chained to a Harvard desk and told to produce plans for weapons and world domination for sinister underground masonic Zionist organisations run by the likes of Donald (666) Rumsfeld....ok now I'm getting silly. I Might have made that last bit up..

I agree , somewhat with you Europeans on the cultural supremacy. Like you said, Pixel, you have 5,000 years to choose examples of. What do we have? 400+ years. Really no contest. Perhaps we should only peer back the last 400 hundred years for our examples. Europe would still wipe our tails with that comparison too..So now let us break it down further....USA vs any what country in Europe the past 250 years. Suddenly the comparison becomes much closer.......maybe, perhaps we kick your tails. I mean now many cultural icons does Norway produce Pixel Pirate?

The tiny country of Norway has actually managed to produce some of the world's greatest artists, chief among them Ibsen of course, the father of modern drama. Then there's Edvard Munch, the father of modern painting. Throw in Grieg and a few others (like Nobel prize winners Sigrid Undset and Knut Hamsun) and we have actually had rather a great impact in the realms of the arts over the last 100 years or so for such a tiny place. Proof positive that size really is immaterial!

Hey I would be the first person to stick up for Britain, afterall not only have I been in love with a British man most my life, or is it the home of my favorite music... but my last name is Heath, my other grandparents surnames were Waters and Gray. I have a feeling my blood is English.....

If it weren't for America, there'd be no Fender or Gibson guitars.
But thanks for those Marshall amps, guys!
