Maybe its just because its New Years Eve. Maybe its because I'm slowly getting drunk, but I thought I should take this opportunity to invite all American forumers to have a pop at Europe. I count myself as European - not just English, and I love all I've seen of Europe. I have immensly enjoyed my limited experice of the USA too, but its only fair, that in light of the yank bashing that has occured here of late, to which I have indeed been party to, IT'S THE YANKS TURN!! BRING IT ON, AND KEEP IT CLEAN!! Happy new year to everyone wherever you are.. ------------- Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy! |

All this generalizing really is regretful. Not to mention pointless. I am one man, one being. I do not align myself with any religion, political party, racial profile or financial community (I am, however, blatantly heterosexual) and to count me in as a target is disrespectful, inflamatory and downright rude. If you want to jump on individuals, corrupt politicians, hypocrits and lousy musicians and artist passing off crap as art, go ahead. I've always wanted to go and visit, see my great-grandparents homeland, the castles of Poland, drink a pint or two with Diddy and Jim and shake hands with Dick and Easy. Anyway, my anscestors come from Europe (Ireland and Hungary) so it seems silly to bash them. Bash America all you want fellow members of this world. It is what you do the one that is on top. I love living in California and I can't think of any place else in this world I would want to live. I would love to vist as much of the world as I can but see little hope in that. Oh manni, honestly. I shouldn't have to answer that. Which country has produced the best rock prog rock music? England. Which out of our two continents have produced the best classical composers? The fact that the world has since embraced Big Mac culture is not a credit to America, but more a discredit to everyone who indulges in it. Then there is cuisine & wine. I agree , somewhat with you Europeans on the cultural supremacy. Like you said, Pixel, you have 5,000 years to choose examples of. What do we have? 400+ years. Really no contest. Perhaps we should only peer back the last 400 hundred years for our examples. Europe would still wipe our tails with that comparison too..So now let us break it down further....USA vs any what country in Europe the past 250 years. The tiny country of Norway has actually managed to produce some of the world's greatest artists,chief among them Ibsen of course,the father of modern drama. Then there's Edvard Munch,the father of modern painting. Throw in Grieg and a few others (like Nobel prize winners Sigrid Undset and Knut Hamsun) and we have actually had rather a great impact in the realms of the arts over the last 100 years or so for such a tiny place.
