Hey, doesn't anyone else think of the Greeks or Norse or Egyptians and realize that religious beliefs come and go?
I mean, even the so-called faithful today have a much different view than those of the same religion a century or two ago. Beliefs change, and our world stays pretty much the same.

Yes, that is a good point. You can discuss the validity of Christianity until you are blue in the face, but it is just one of many religions.Judaeism was around before Christianity and Islam is only just bringing up the rear, they cant all be right can they?
|
You have to realize the similarities between all religions though, which ties them all together. It is not that one religion is true, but they all have validity.

Jimmy Page was definitely involved witht the occult as far as Aleister Crowley goes. Page even bought one of Crowley's mansions.
Does anybody know if Jimmy Page is a satanist?
|
He was always very vague about his beliefs and interests, but he definitlely was interested in satanism. If you watch "The Song Remains The Same", the scene about Page has him climbing up a mountain, and Crowley was a mountain climber.

Reed you make a good debate, and I dont have any
interest in the headache. I simply went through the
debate and made my own feelings known, both for
an against, mostly against, but I do understand both
viewpoints. Think we all have problems with the
mystery of life. I can only say see what it looks like 10
years from now. Dont think intellectual debate is
going to do anything until the heart is readied. Dont
care what your head thinks or what you do with you
penis. But God searches mens heart and it will tell
the tale.

Change of caracter seems in place.
Bite your lip, confess your sins and let the past sleep behind your silenced cry.
I could explain it but I won't.

Boring debate that you have felt it necessary to contribute to several times.
All I ask is that you explain and justify what you are saying as apposed to just presenting it as wisdom.
As for "check back in say 10 years", well really -kinda proves what i am saying. Explain please!
Oh a late edit: maybe the poison wil have had time to work through your system

The science is correct. Carbon dating is only one of the tools used to discover the age of an object.Common sense plays a part too!
Having read all your posts on this topic I have not seen you provide a single shred of documented evidence for this nonesense you spout.
"Mans intelligence is flawed and history proves it" How?
"I think science and religion have both moved much more closer these days as many statements and discoveries have come out back one and the other over the last say 10 years. I think that gap has been closing for awhile. "
You dont "think" that at all-you've just thought it up now.
Science and Religion have only moved closer together as Religion has been forced to backtrack in the light of science fact discrediting religious fiction. Besides can you back up your assertion with hard facts? The Religion you refer to is Christianity-I havent seen much pandering to modern science in more fundamentalist religions.
Do you live alone DB? Your crazy mutterings have surely never been aired in public before.Otherwise you would not have presented this rubbish to us.

True enough. The most obvious characteristic of any religion, but especially christianity,is a fierce and violent (sometimes literally) opposition to knowledge and scientific progress and that has always been the basis of my opposition to it.
