Topic: Heaviest Opeth Album Posted: January 15 2006 at 07:45 |
For me its Orchid because its their most obvious, stereotypical death metal album. From Morningrise they explored there prog, space rock, pyshcedellic influences but put them into the death metal mold.

Come to think of it, I was wrong; this one actually says something about how people listen to music, the others just ask for preferance.

Erm, okay. Ghost Reveries is a great album no doubt, but in no way is it heavier than Deliverance.

Good point! I think that it's a good album to get to know Opeth, as it contains both elements of their early music and hints of what's to come later.

I agree that Still Life is DARKER (my favourite along with B.Park) but Deliverance is HEAVIER

But you don't usually judge the heaviness of an album by it's mellow parts. I find Still Life a great album, but not that heavy - the rhythm guitars ,in particular, frequently sound kinda weedy.
