However Kate Bush is prog but i have many other bands I personally prefer over her. Definately on Wishbone Ash. Wishbone is very underated and deserve to be in PA alongside Tull, and Supertramp.

Who's more "prog" ??? Very hard to tell, dear Hozra ( hope you got me right now about Pink Floyd ! )... I think that Kate Bush is more progressive in the true sense of the word, but in terms of what people use to name "prog" it's Supertramp ( say... up to "Paris" ).

I've always liked both, but as the question is "who is more prog?", I voted for Kate Bush. In fact, Supertramp may have long songs with keyboards and such, but Kate's output has always been very innovative, blending classical and ethnic influences, multilayered vocal arrangements, complex subject matter and eerie atmospheres. That said, I think both deserve to be in ProgArchives.

What I've heard of Supertramp is not that progressive IMO. They have an original sound, but they dont seem to make music that is in any way complex or conceptual. Overall they seem pretty commercial to me. I quite like what I've heard though.
Kate Bush on the other hand, despite having had numerous hit singles and an often 'pop' approach to making music, has composed long 'suites' has fused completely different styles, and sounds. 'ASky of Honey' and 'The Ninth Wave' demonstrate this clearly, with Welsh male voice choirs against submarine sonars and Irish jigs. Also, 'The Dreaming' album is perhaps one of the strangest and eclectic albums I've ever heard, complete with diggereedoos, bird song, donkey impressions and talking drums... Kate wins, although I dont have any objection to Supertramp being here under prog related.

Oh i see, silly me.
Even sillier me to think that Kate Bush was just a faded old pop singer.

There is no comparison being made at all. The poll is to see whether fans think Supertramp or Kate Bush are more prog because a statement was made that Kate Bush deserves to be on the site more than Supertramp because Supertramp isn't prog and Kate Bush is. The poll doesn't ask whether you like Kate Bush or Supertramp more, it simply asks who in your determination is more prog.

I think Supertramp comes closest to prog as we know it, meaning that they made several extended pieces, longtracks. Kate Bush sticks more to the song format than Supertramp, but Kate's melodies, arrangements and themes are very innovating, much more than Supertramp's.
So in a way it's 1 - 1.

What do you think of Child of Vision, from Breakfast in America? |
I said if it was only for Crime of the Century and School, never said only for those songs, I believe it means (Unless my English is worst than I think it is) that those two songs are so good that even if Supertramp hadn't released any other Progressive song, those two would be enough to include them.
Of course there are other great songs, Even in the Quietest Moments is a very good album, Crisis What's Crisis? also.
But honestly I have Breakfast in America and thinking in giving that CD a good use (probably a coaster). I already burned Child of Vision (Great track) in a personal Supertramp anthology, because the rest of the album isn't IMO worth the plastic in which it was recorded.

Despite the terrible Dreamer, the album Crime of

She has a pretty voice and some good songs, but shouldn't be in Prog Archives.
If it was only for the songs Crime of the Century and School I would still vote for Supertramp.
