I voted Camel because I don't consider Gentle Giant symphonic.

YES for me, but it's difficult to say because the bands listed -and others even great- are very different perhaps superficial similitudes... I voted for YES because it's my favourite band since the first time I heard it (almost 20 years ago) but I still don't if it's the best band of that genre... Anyway I love bands like Camel, Anglagard, Focus and King Crimson amongst others...

WHY ISNT PFM ON THERE...ANYONE AGREE?

damn right I agree....  and I have a question.  This is being debated on another site,  just why is Gentle Giant considered symphonic. They share little in commen with the commen symphonic elements of the the others.  You won't find any sweeping majestic side longs with multiple movements in their albums, their songs had a peverse.... pop element to them.  Let me explain.  Pop relies up 'hooks' whether vocal or musical.  Could it not be argued that Gentle Giant did the same... though instead of relying on a hook, their songs were laden with multiple hooks both vocal and instrumental.  Just thinking out loud, so don't flame me too hard if you disagree hahahah.  Seriously though, I'd like to hear why people consider them symphonic.  It has bearing on another discussion I've got going on elsewhere.

My vote..... Yes.

Mine too... and I agree with you, my dear fellow team member! Wink As a matter of fact, neither GG, nor VDGG, nor KC are symphonic. They have some symphonic elements in their sound, but not enough to be really defined symphonic as, for instance, Yes, Genesis or ELP.

hahahha talk about a blast from the past.... well at least I wasn't TOTALLY full of it.  Wink  I always thought their eclectic nature was more Gentle Giant than the symphonic elements they do have.
