I am interested in which artist this was supposed to be, and I am interested in more of the context behind the topic, and I am concerned when it comes to Friede as I care about her well-being and I do hope that this topic and people's reactions have not caused too much discomfort. I am curious *cue some irrelevant babble about Schrödinger's cat*

I don't think one should be embarrassed about getting such a thing wrong (we all have our off-times), although it can hurt if one was misled by another. Some of these comments might be seen as a kind of insensitive goading that could cause one shame -- not saying that's the intent, but that might be the perception. Maybe if she was comfortable she would have responded. Not just this topic, but comments on the interest in Barbara Dennerlein by some might be seen as insensitive and uncharitable.

I do think we should be careful when talking about people and getting into their characters, sharing our perceptions and assumptions, and try to be charitable and empathetic (might be "misplaced" empathy as it's internal). Often I do think that it's best to try to talk to that person by PM rather than making public commentary. Maybe this would have been better PMed to you. I also think we should try to be sensitive if it seems one is uncomfortable posting and give that person some space -- who knows what issues that person is going through at the time, unless of course one cares enough to personally contact that person and ask about it.

Anyway, if people are really interested to know more about the topic subject, I do suggest a PM. I am sorry for getting on my soapbox (I rather despise myself for doing that).

I appreciate it wasn’t just to me, but as you have then replied quoting my words, I would have thought that they showed the sensitivity, charity and empathy you were suggesting should be used. I definitely haven’t, and wouldn’t, say anything that I thought was insensitive to others. As can probably be seen by the way I stood up for Baz in another thread. I abhor bullying in any form, so I would definitely not partake in any in any discussion I thought were bullying. Some of the comments regarding Barbara Dennerlein on other posts in the past have definitely struck me as “off”, and I do think some forum regulars come very close to bullying at times, whether or not they are aware of it. Hopefully I am not one of those. But what your interpretation of my comment shows is how easily tone can be misconstrued on this forum, as you’ve read into what I’ve said quite different things than what I intended to convey. But, as per my previous comment, if I were at all concerned, I would have PM’d Friede. I haven’t, because I’m not. (And I’ve sent quite a few PM’s over time, when I have been concerned about something someone has said, so it’s not like this is something I avoid doing.)

It’s of no concern to me at all. If it were, I absolutely would have PM’d her. I was merely replying to someone else’s comment (just as I am here). 🤷🏻‍♂️

If it is that big a concern, why not just PM her so you can try to talk to her rather than about her.

I don’t think we are. Given Friede is posting replies to other posts, yet ignoring this one says a lot. I just think it’s a shame that even if this didn’t go as she planned, or if it were a joke that fell flat, or whatever, that she can’t make some response. Her silence and absence from this post is sad. I would have expected better from her.

Well, I give in...WHAT IS THE ANSWER??

She hasn't replied. I think at this point she evidently realizes she screwed up, and whatever point she was trying to make is as nonsensical as that spliced together concert footage.

It is obviously from a concert with music by Edgard Varèse.

Yes! It's obvious when you think about it. Oldfield fans are f***ing lunatics.

So, I suppose such reactions could be seen at a Deep Purple concert at that time. The other bands in the list were not really that 'heavy' in the 70s.
Could be Zeppelin but I doubt it. (And finally, I would be absolutely shocked if this a prog concert - the behavior of the crowd wouldn't make sense)

Nope! We've already determined that the footage is actually not from the 70's and is comprised of numerous different gigs, including a Michael Jackson concert from the 90's.

It's some kind of trick question.

It would appear one of his favourite sources of samples is Art of Noise, and several of the Art of Noise songs he samples are more or less made up of Yes samples. This was probably the case since Trevor Horn, as Art of Noise, had easy access to Yes music to sample.

So going back from there, is there a link between Trevor Horn or maybe any other Yes member, with the other two concerts?

Hmm, inteesting..

Do you have link to that YT clip with the sound? I can't find it.

The Michael Jackson part is located and dated here in Bucharest 1992...
Now, who identifies the first part?

Edit: OK, found it here... 2017!

Wow, good work. So the bit about it being all the same concert from the 70s is not entirely true then.

I'm wondering if this clip was actually played on a big screen, at a concert, performed by a band who were big in the 70's in the 90's?? A bit of a stretch, but consistent with my general theory that's it's simply a 'trick' question, as the actual footage is clearly not from a concert by any of the listed acts.

OR, a 70's act was on the same bill, but not actually playing while the headbanging/feinting footage was filmed...again...stretchy... Can;t imagine any of those acts supporting Jacko.

Ignoring any and all evidence to the contrary, obviously it is Magma. The audiences are reacting to this:
