I have a fondness for British Steel too. It was the first JP album I brought, although I much preferred Screaming for Vengeance and Defenders of the Faith at the time, but these days British Steel is the album I go back to. You don't have to be old to be wise is an absolute classic!

Queen for nostalgic reasons. Iron Maiden and Rush close behind.

I only one I own is the Black Sabbath so I'll vote for that.

Much like Trane my personal favorites would be

Eskaton - 4 Visions
Zamla Mammaz Manna - Familjesprickor
Art Zoyd - Generation Sans Futur
Present - Triskaidekaphobie
Ian

Out of these I'll choose Queen - The Game.

I have other favourites from that year.
David Bowie - Scary Monsters
The Clash - Sandinista!
The Police - Zenyatta Mondatta
Talking Heads - Remain in Light

Or from Denmark: Kliché - Supertanker:

Picked Melt from this list. Although my favourite from 1980 is probably Talking Heads' Remain in Light.

Went with Yes, followed by Genesis, Eloy, Rush, and Peter Gabriel. Nice selection.

Drama, slightly above Duke and The Game. Moving Pictures and Black Sea are terrific both, but having listened to them much later, it's hard for me to compare. They just don't feel like part of 1980 to me.

Nice list again! My favourites of these are Saga, Eloy, Peter Gabriel... but to be honest with myself I have to vote for Yes' Drama.

Clap (but I would delete the word pop)

I've voted for Rush but it could have been PG or Yes.
