Idiot I am, I completely forgot Haken. I've also decided it's a bit cruel to say Pendragon is the best based on the only album I have by them in the 21st century (though it's one of my favourite albums now), so this is my new list: Thank You Scientist Haken Pendragon Steven Wilson Porcupine Tree IQ Pyramid Theorem Sanguine Hum Discipline The Mars Volta Lower down: The Psychedelic Ensemble, Caligula's Horse, Pyramid Theorem, Citizen Cane, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Sylvan, etc.

I tend to forget Swans are in any way associated with prog.

It's been a patchy period for them, but when they're good, they're very good... Mostly Autumn have also been fantastic in the last few years, but are they really prog?..... |

One thing that slightly surprises me (although I should know you bunch) is that Swans' absolutely iconic 2010s trilogy hasn't put them on anyone's list yet except mine. For me it makes them number 1 actually.

Grey Lady Down had one album in the 21st century(2001)and the rest were from the 90's so hardly a 21st century band imo. Aside from that they were at the time considered very derivative neo prog. One site in particular(that is no longer around) said they were the lowest rated band.

I don't tend to keep track of the last 20 years in this way...it's all too recent! But here are some of my faves, mostly of course in prog folk but in a few other genres too
In no particular order (ok I alphabetized it), these are artists who have more than one noteworthy album since 2000, and where most of their output is from the 21st century Albion Believe Corde Oblique Decemberists Favni (Fauns) Hallas Hexvessel Midlake Nightwish Oloferne Phideaux Poor Genetic Material Sangre de Muerdago Satellite Seven Reizh Tenhi Tornaod Thoby Loth Woven Hand Edited by kenethlevine - September 13 2020 at 20:43 |

He's not answering you because you are bugging him about it. At first it was because he wasn't around but now it's because you are pestering him and he's just avoiding the question altogether. Typically when you keep bothering someone about something they are more inclined to ignore you or avoid answering the question deliberately. I believe that's what happened here. I like BG(Big Generator) so I can't answer for him.
