Sorry, I neglected to vote before.

I’ll go with The Boy & Despoinis Trixromi: Glykeia Mou Agapi, Eartha Kitty-Catwoman, and The Catman, Cat Stevens.

get those instrumentals ready to roll.. once properly fed and well lubricated I'll start the new poll this evening.

The theme..  instrumentals not to be found on PA's.  Obscure .. popular..  western or exotic.. whatever...  doesn't matter.

Yes, because I still have the surprise in store for you. Wink

Mexico IS part of Latin America, because Spanish is the main language spoken here. However, geographically it is now considered part of North America - which wasn't the case when I was younger, and learning my geographyWink.

Latin America based music, on the other hand, I'll need to dig deep into my music collection. Outside of prog, Santana, and a Los Lobos compilation, not sure what else I have.

Yes, Los Lobos play latin rock, I love Kiko and the Lavender Moon, but, with "music with Latin American Influences" I mean every song that draws on the music of Central America and South America, so we are talkin about songs with rhythms or arrangements related to samba, bossanova, tango, caribbean folk, latin jazz, latin American folk, raggae, rock steady, ska, mambo etc. So there is a lot of freedom of choice. For example, with reggae you can post both a Bob Marley song and some Police song.

I think it would be a nice idea, later on, to open an interactive poll also in the "prog polls" section, dedicated to prog songs included in albums not present in the Top 100 of PA.

That's what I was hoping for .

I can wait it out. I am looking forward to instrumentals and Latin American music. I might want to run my idea by someone to see if it is good or bad.

np!!!  You do have me curious... so yeah.. you can run it by me in a PM and I'll give you an honest feedback. The thumbs up or down. Hah..  I do have a head for bread and circus's man.. it is probably what allowed me to keep my head attached with the classic admin team when I wasn't exactly a model citizen here.. but was never a dull one either. i think they got as much of a kick out of it as i did when we went Roman on the DT fans here and fed them to the hungry masses

I'll see what I do with every theme: if I find something that fits, I'll bring it in; if not, I might still listen and vote, or just pass...

I did test gaming and rules discussion for games that are meant to sell... meaning low to medium complexity. I have played my fair deal of freak games, although I've got to say, if it can't be done in 4h including explanation, or max 5, it isn't for me. Online and postal gaming is a different issue, but I've never done anything of the kind people sink all their free time into and then some.

I'm on board for whatever you rules or themes are done.  I agree that the pleasure of this poll is sharing and discovering new music.  So, have at it guys, do what you must, I'm along for the ride.

I'm game for whatever rules. I do have an idea for a future theme that could be fun or an outright disaster.

This has been enjoyable for me. I'm basically a rock music fan as is reflected in most of my choices. I do enjoy and appreciate other music but not always looking for it. So, getting some suggestions outside of that has been great. I've really enjoyed the Africa-based music (Rokia Traore here and Seckou Keita from the 3rd one).

I have an Amazon Music Unlimited streaming subscription and added the Beautiful Africa and a few of her other albums to my cloud, as well as the limited amount of Seckou Keita. I've surprisingly been able to find a good number of the suggested songs on Amazon, and that has lead to a rabbit hole of other music. The Amazon music player has a feature of "You might like" based on what I recently played. I currently have recommendations for Celtic and Nordic folk music and some East European rock music as a result of this poll.

It looks like we've settled  in on having 'regulars' but I hope other people drop. Even just listen. I didn't contribute to the first poll and enjoyed it. I think there is that time commitment to want to listen to something different for an hour or so that probably holds people back. (Just had a thought - a prog poll in which everyone recommends a 15+ minute epic could be trouble.)

Anyway, looking forward to the next couple of themes. I have some ideas for instrumentals, and will probably pick one based on what others suggest first as to provide variety. Latin America based music, on the other hand, I'll need to dig deep into my music collection. Outside of prog, Santana, and a Los Lobos compilation, not sure what else I have.

whatever we want man.

What is needed though to start are not rules ..but you all to set the tone via the suggestions you make.  Someone is going to look mighty silly suggesting a goddmaned Genesis song in the midst of what we might be suggesting. For that perhaps it be best I take the first poll or two..  I do have a talent for dealing politely with those who miss the boat...  'ummm..  hey Bobblehead.. try again... read my f**king post and try suggesting something you think others might like that they may not know'

I've learned a good life lesson first in the service.. then later running crews of workers on jobsites.  It is easier to get a point across with a 2x4 ..blunt trauma ...  rather than trying to us reason'. It is how I got things done here as well as a collab leading teams. LOL It works...

Haha, my own outlook and experience as on- and offline game master and boardgame development test player is certainly different... rules shouldn't be complicated and there shouldn't be many if it can be avoided... but precision surely helps because there will always be the odd person who interprets whatever is imprecise in a surprising... if not dodgy and spirit defying way.
