When he said "faux liberals" OP was talking about the perpetually offended "your rights end where my feelings begin" crowd that dominates modern academia. It has nothing very little to do with political parties.

I'm not sure if someone brought this up, but there are more true heavier left leaning American Democrats in response to the ultra right wing Republican Tea Party in America. Is it possible that some may mistake some of this increase as being faux liberals?

The communists you mention (I don't know who "your people" is by the way, I assume is white Caucassian Europeans) are not the same as the ones your beloved Pinochet (for example) dumped off a helicopter in a river.
