I haven't... is it even on the album or do they just include the lyrics to mindf**k you?

I actually don't care too, too much for the last two songs on Frances the Mute.  They should have been one track and a little more cohesive.

But anyway, I love the way the acoustic section bookends the album.

Have you heard the actual song "Frances the Mute," and if so, is it any good?

Now I need to hear more VdGG, thanks for that

I'd rate all of their albums a solid four- excellent music- except for the fourth album...I'm still letting that one sink in, but I can see myself giving it a two or three.  Probably a three- there's a few songs I really like, like "Ilyena."

Oh man, I was listening to Godbluff in the car on the way to Ikea last night and remembering how much I adore that album. This morning I listened ot The Last We Can Do Is Wave To Each Other, which my lovely girlfriend found in a used record store for me before my VdGG loving friend was able to get to that section. She quite enjoys them too, which surprises me because she's more into Punk, although she does like a lot of prog.

Actually, she's the one that got me into Mars Volta, she's a huge At The Drive-In fan, and I don't love most of MV's stuff, but I really like Frances The Mute. Not sure what to give the debut yet for a score.

LOL

You know, my wife accused me something that is outrageous-

See, I never liked The Mars Volta, and couldn't understand why other people liked them so much.  Every time I tried to listen to them, I just hated what I heard.  It was noisy and the vocals were so obtrusive.

But when I went ahead and sprung for a couple of albums, I realized I liked what I heard, a lot, perhaps because the headphones at record stores are that good, I guess.

Anyway, my wife hates The Mars Volta and refuses to let me play it in her presence.  But she accused me of liking them just because they are popular on Prog Archives.  Can you believe that?

This coming from a guy who gave In the Court of the Crimson King three stars and ELP's debut two.  And I don't like Van der Graaf Generator (as yet).

It is, but I think you should have written the lyrics like they were sung:

NAAAAAOOOO EEEIIIIMMMM LOOOO-Hoooo-HuAAAAAAAHHHHHST!!!!!

The Waiting Room? Awesome. That's one of my favorite Genesis songs.

I once did something really cool with that song.

I simultaneously started playing it on my stereo (in my basement) and on my computer (on the first floor). I pushed the volume to maximum on both. I then proceeded to close all the lights in my house (during the night). Finally, I just ran around my house screaming.

That was freaky and psychedelic.

That sounds insane. LOL

Why would you scream though? Confused

Well, it adds to the whole "freak out" thing. And it's fun.

Hmm... alright. LOL

Probably because the music is so terrible.
