Here you get to earn and exchange prog trading cards. No, wait! Don't run away! Hear me out!
I have Photoshopped some trading cards of progressive rock albums.
You get five free cards just for posting here asking for your starter deck.
Not satisfied with your cards? Want more? Easy- here's how you get them:
Write reviews for Prog Archives. Post here with the link to your review, and you get a card.
If you give a track-by-track description, you get a bonus card.
If your review is the first one for a given album, you get a bonus card.
That's potentially three cards per review.
Negotiate and announce your trades with other members in this thread.
Some cards are rarer than others. But you knew that. In other words, there's a few more "Jeremy Benders" than there are "Tarkus Medleys." Perhaps you'd like to collect sets of entire albums, or just build your ultimate set list. Or just waste your time. Either way, it's "just for fun," and I hope this gives people a tad more incentives to review, review, review!

Oh, oh! Is there a Rush series??
|
Posted By: Epignosis
Date Posted: November 08 2008 at 19:28
Oh yes. But I'm limiting this to albums I have. And I have many Rush albums.
Doesn't mean you'll get any immediately. I distribute the cards using a number system.

Not a bad haul, Bern. You actually got two songs from the same album in a row.
|

Not bad.
I'm not a big Going for the One or Kansas fan but Can-Utility and the Coastliners is certainly an awesome song to me. So is Seven Stones.

sorry for the delayed response, just setting up a folder and saving them for reference .
The only song I'm not familiar with is the Kansas one, but the rest I'm
pretty big fans of. Heart of the Sunrise and A Venture are 2 Yes
favorites. The Musical Box was also the first Genesis song that I was
ever addicted to. I'm happy, Rush can come later
Now, if I ever get By-Tor And The Snow Dog, well...

I guess I have to tell Rob, once again (this happens a lot), to sleep with one eye open

I know three of them... Cans And Brahms I can probably pass on soon enough, but The Barbarian and Visions Of Angels... classics. Must review to get more...

No, but they do reflect only bands I have albums of (for example, there will be no Eloy, Le Orme, or Van der Graff Generator). I'm also making new cards (as we speak), so there will be many new additions as we go on.

I really like "Dog Years" actually, so that works. I like every Rush song though.
It's a pity I don't write reviews hardly. Maybe I will; I'm not sure. I usually don't like writing them too much, however. I'll have to look through the cards that other people have later and see if anyone is willing to trade too.

You know, I happen to prefer Rush more Counterparts and beyond. I love Test for Echo as well as Vapor Trails. I wonder why most people are naysayers when it comes to modern Rush?

If you review the original post, you can find out how to get more, and that you can trade with others, if they're willing.
I happen to like "Dog Years."
|

|
All Rush is stonking brilliant! But I happen to be a fanboy
I don't love T4E, but the rest I love, love, love! T4E I like

Barbarian Knife Edge After The Ordeal
I think. Halfway through a decentish review at the moment, so should pick up a couple more later.

I love all eras of Rush and couldn't say I love one more than the other. I guess it's simply because Rush definitely isn't the same band that they were in the 70s, and you know how people are.

Want to trade Yes - The Ancient for either of my Genesis songs?
|
Hmm Yes, I've never been a big fan of TFTO (or Yes as a whole for that matter). I'd like Return of the Giant Hogweed.
Deal?

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

Certainly. I like Genesis quite a bit, but I'm a huge TFTO fan.
Deal.

You should have "Tank" also, because I traded it to you.
