pretension

me get off my high horse? that was the wholepoint of this thread, are you that dense? i never said thsoe not trained in music couldnt enjoy it...i said that they shouldnt consider themselves and their tastes above everyone else's the way they seem to..... and that they should keep in mind, when calling some artist's work "sh*t", that they would never have been able to do it and therefore should more readily focus on that than the fact a certain piece of work doesnt fit into their narrow field of taste....jsut because you dotn like it does not mean its sh*t, and you should know this if you know that you really havent the foggiest about what it takes to put music together...i mean if you dont know what is required and how the processes work how can you judge the work other than on personal taste? how do you know whether you are picking up on the subtleties that dotn readily present themselves? how can you say soemthing has no structure when you dotn knwo what the structure is supposed to be?
im not telling those of you without musical trainin gto quit reviewing, rather to be a little more objective in the reviews, especially of genres that may not tickle your utmost fancies

funny how quick you are to jump on the anti-hopelevre bandwagon james....first off i said most of you not all of you, second you are one of the ones not guilty of this so why are you even f**king typing here???third, if you can remember you have a brain you would agree with me as ive seen you comment similarly on other posts

if i posted this thread to name and shame i would have done so...rather i posted it to maybe get those of you guilty of this behaviour to look inwardly for a second, but by your predictable responses i see this may fall on deaf ears
