Pick between Chili and Cheese rather than doing both. |

We were trying to figure out yesterday how to fit the Opening Day hot dogs into this strict diet that I am on.

It's getting closer. I can smell the hot dogs now and the peanut shells underneath my feet.

What? But that's like every team man. Regardless of sport! I find it rare, and refreshing, when you meet ANY fan who is logical, rational and not a fanboy about their team. Just admit you hate the team ![]() |

I love the start of the baseball season. Even for the worst teams out there, at least it signals a change in weather.
I'll try to keep my expectations low for the Blue Jays (damn AL East!!), but I'll definitely watch more games this year. I barely had the time last year (at least it felt like it), but would always catch the highlights, and I did catch one live. Jose Bautista signs a big contract, but should I cut his homerun total in half for the upcoming season? I'm not as familiar with the league as I am with the NHL or the MLB, but we supposedly made some upgrades to our bullpen, but we lost Scott Downs. A new manager as well with John Farrell, so this will be an interesting year. |

Well, you know what they say, "hope springs eternal."
I think the Tigers' chances are better this year, though, with a better pitching staff (with the addition of Benoit and Penny), the addition of Victor Martinez, and another year under the belt for some good rookies from last year. But it 's also the deletions of a helluva lot of dead weight that makes this team better: Gerald "Pop-up" Laird, Adam "Sac-bunt" Everett, Dontrelle "Scared of my shadow" Willis, Jeremy "the operation didn't work" Bonderman, and Armando "I almost pitched a no-hitter, just like I almost pitched in every other start" Gallaraga.
As I stated earlier, I think the Tigers will surprise folks this year. Of course, I've said that every year since 2006 at least. Edited by The Dark Elf - March 01 2011 at 15:34 |

Just a word of warning:
To those who are fans of big market teams that are successful (aimed primarily at Pat but its for anyone) I am going to disregard your farm system, and important small time moves that contributed to success and just claim "Yeah it's easy to win when you have a lot of money right?" And I will insist upon it rabidly. Try and defend the team and provide truth if you'd like, I'm just going to ignore it and continue. See how all the Yankee haters like it... I am serious. The Tigers beat both the Phillies and the Blue Jays 6 to 2. Pretty funny that both games ended with the same score.
