Whats really funny is this is exactly what we wanted.
Or should I say "wanted" because now that it's happened, everyone suddenly is going berserk. The last 2 days the NY media has been crazy, and the fan base is blowing a collective lid.

We're ok with Swisher since he's just a f**kin bum, and Granderson....well it hurts but he's been sh*t recently, I can at least get it kinda. This A Rod thing is insane though. The GM (before the coach) came out to say he's only going to face lefties. A guy with 647 home runs, almost 2000 RBI and an all time great is now a lefty hitterLOL and that benches him for the rest of the Tigers. If we make a miracle 4 game run it'll be without him.

One has to wonder if he's done as a Yankee. It'd seem too much $ is involved but rumor is there's been talks with Florida, though the GM wasn't involved. tl;dr the Yanks are in chaos.

Anyway I agree though, I've been fed up with this sh*t for years, sans 2009, and it is time to clean house. They need to exorcise the demons, and I hope shift philosophy in the future.

Up in Canada here we get the American TV feed but every few innings they go to Toronto to the Jays commentators for discussion. I thought it was interesting when asked if they thought there would be retaliation against Holliday for sliding hard into Scutaro. Both Ashby and the other dude(both former players) had no doubt they will bean Holliday tonight. Just something to keep an eye on.

Well Swisher will be gone i'm sure as he's free-agent but how do you get rid of A-Rod and the rest of that contract ? The Jays did amazingly well getting rid of Vernon Wells to the Angels a few years ago and his massive contract, but it's not an easy thing to do although with the Yankees money maybe they'll trade him and continue to pay his salary anyway.LOL

The announcers on TV were surprised A-Rod wasn't up stretching in case he was called upon late in the game. They kept showing him on the bench munching on peanuts or something. I really enjoyed the game and man if the Yankees had have pulled off the win i would be worried. Verlander wasn't as dominant as he can be but allowing 1 single run over 8 and 2/3 innings is pretty damn good.

Well, going into work today I heard the story about how after A Rod was benched game 1 he was caught flirting with girls in the stands with zero attention being paid to the game they were losing...

Sheesh. Well...if there's EVER a time A Rod can redeem himself it's tonight. He has pretty good numbers against Verlander this year and the Yanks have hit him.
Except A Rod has been benched.

For the coach who is hated for living by the numbers he seems to have thrown logic out the window!
He wasn't hitting anyway, nor was the time and their best one is now out so it'd be a miracle anyway. If by some crazy chance the Yanks pull it out I wonder if they'd start A Rod next or bench him again!

Edit: anywho here we go! Yankee fans everywhere have their wish of A Rod and Swisher being benched and seeing it in person suddenly makes them scaredLOL

Yesterday they had Coke pitch the 8th and 9th innings.  They are probably hoping that Verlander does that job on Tuesday.  Not sure what their backup plan will be.

Leyland said that he's not going to be the closer tonight, and if he's not able  to pitch a fast ball in the next week, he should not pitch again in this series.

They used Coke in that role right ?
Weird that Valvarde has given up on his split finger fastball, wasn't that pitch the one that made him so successful last year ?
I'm looking forward to the Giants/Cards game tonight, i missed the first one. I honestly don't know who to cheer for in that one. Both have won the World Series recently so it would be nice to see the Tigers do it. Yes it hurts to say that.

The Tigers pretty much stole that game yesterday with an assist to the 2nd base umpire who really blew that call on the tag on Infante.  Really hard to believe that the Yankees didn't score any runs.

Verlander versus Hughes on Tuesday.  Tigers' fans are pretty excited to have Verlander on the mound, and many are already counting their chickens, but he never really pitches that great against the Yankees, and the Tigers' hitters usually have a hell of a time hitting Hughes.  Really hoping for a 3 game to none stranglehold.

Yes. They didn't put him on the post-season roster.

Maybe the Yankees will think twice about coming back from a 4 - 0 deficit in the 9th inning next time that happens.  If they had just gone out peacefully like most other teams, Jeter wouldn't have got hurt.

Yikes, not even with the Sahx have I said such things. Your hatred is mildly upsetting LOL
I guess I'll say "I really hope Verlander doesn't get into a car accident and dies and his body is raped by wolves. That would be bad"

The O's played damn tough, I really assume the Yanks would choke as always.
Helluva comeback against Detroit just wasn't enough.
Losing Jeter really hurts because he was pretty much the only one hittingCry if our team weren't a bunch of jackasses losing one guy, even the Captain, wouldn't be sooo bad. Now others need to step up.
And I really don't forsee that...ah well   next year awaits!
That was more of an attempt at tongue-in-cheek humor versus spewing unfiltered hatred, which was reserved strictly for Valverde last night.

You are supposed to be happy after your team wins, right?  Why do we always seem to end up being more pissed than happy?  Valverde really has a way of taking the fun out of a game.
