A few more I thought of:
Aera
Daevid Allen (and he has a very complicated discograpjy!. lots of collaborations with other artists for just one album)
Between (a band which deserves A LOT more attention)
Brand X
Popol Vuh
Greenslade
Deep Freeze Mice (for some inexplicable reason rejected from the archives)
Henry Cow
Led Zeppelin
Birth Control
Third Ear Band
Edgar Froese
United Jazz and Rock Ensemble

I am sure there still are a lot more

Of which prog or related bands do you have all studio albums restricted to those that have made at least 5 studio albums ? Tough question, I know and I will have to start digging myself too. For the moment I know this of:

Porcupine Tree
Dream Theater
Flower Kings
Pendragon
Enchant
Everon
Jadis
Ayreon
Arena
Symphony X
Pain of Salvation
Steely Dan
Shadow Gallery

Must be just about it with these. What is your list ?

I have all of the above except for Pendragon, Everon, Jadis, Arena, and Steely Dan.  Others that I know that I have and can easily think of are Yes, Rush, ELP, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Tiles, Spock's Beard, Metallica, Queensryche, Led Zeppelin, Earthworks, Chicago, Journey, The Moody Blues, Marillion, Pallas, Queen, Kansas, Styx, IQ, Fates Warning, Vanden Plas, Galactic Cowboys, King's X, Phish, Umphrey's McGee, Primus, The Mars Volta, Neal Morse (although I don't have the extremely religious releases) and Radiohead.

WOW ! is the only comment I have here and I'll say it again: WOW ! I mean that really is a lot !
And good taste too by the way Tongue

The Beatles, really? They made a lot of albums.
I personally appreciate more their Rubber Soul to Abbey Road era, they're all great. Clap

Gentle Giant
King Crimson
VDGG
Secret Chiefs 3
Pink Floyd
Jethro Tull
PT
Earthworks
Univers Zero
Spock's Beard
Pain Of Salvation

I want to say I'm forgetting (at least) one...as I usually do with lists. I'll edit if need be.

Cool idea for a thread:

Genesis
Spock's Beard
The Flower Kings
Dream Theater
Sting
Stone Temple Pilots
Love and Rockets

I can't include Neal Morse in good faith (get it, it's a pun) as I've only purchased his prog CD's, not the poppier stuff.

On the bright side, in the process of researching my collection, I learned that there's a new Juno Reactor out (well, new as in last year).  Once I pick up that one (their seventh) then I'll be able to add them to my list.

based on those with five or more studio albums.... I can only think of these:

Magma (all the studios plus quite a number of other albums)
Robert Wyatt
Univers Zero
Present
Zao
Gentle Giant (should say I used to have all of the studio albums)

Heldon is almost complete....

Okay, then.  Including all "regular" studio and live albums, I have the following discographies (minimum 5 albums, excluding compilation albums):

Tool

Short enough list??? LOL

The thing is, I usually don't like a band's entire discography if they made more than 5 albums (with some exceptions).  If I buy an album and don't like it, I'll get rid of it.  Leave some space for something I do enjoy.

I only have Harmonium and Radiohead's complete discographies.
In fact, most of the bands I appreciate (or even adore) have made some bad (in my opinion) albums that I don't want to buy at all (well, that's the case for Radiohead's Pablo Honey, but anyway).
I'd name a few of these bands: - Pink Floyd (that's the best exemple for me) I
own every Waters-era  and  every Barrett-era (including Relics) albums, but I really don't like Gilmour-era album even if I find Gilmour guitar works in Pink Floyd amazing.
                                                       -  VDGG. Most of their albums are good but I don't like their present stuff.
                                                       - Yes. From The Yes Album to Going for the One, they're one of my              favourite bands (Yes and Time and a Word are pretty good though) but I dislike everything they did after this album.
                                                      - Genesis. Gabriel-era is filled with wonderful albums, but except for Trick of the Tail, Collins-era is awful...

That's less than 5 albums so it doesn't count. Tongue
