After 2 or 3 songs Threshold's singer got pissed off by bad sound, he started complaining to the mixing table guy, then started cursing blaming the venue (it was in very a normal small venue were many concerts were organised) and suddenly threw the microphone to the ground and left the stage. The rest of band members looked to eachother and decided to also stop and follow him to the backstage.

I do not remeber the sound itself being particularly bad but they were very loud and the gitarists played heavily distorted.

A bit later Enchant played their show and it was magnificient, they sounded crystal clear, so powerful yet so clean and with such finesse, Douglas A Ott really impressed me. They were so cheered by the audience, which must have pissed Threshold's Glynn Morgan off even more LOL
This must have made the Threshold guys realise that if they did not sound well it was their own fault only and they must have felt guilty because at the end of the show to compensate the audience they gave each of us one of the albums which they had intended for merchandising, I got Psychedelicatessen. I found it nice of them.

So with only 3 or 4 songs I don't really think I can say that I have seen Threshold live (although I did include them in my list Embarrassed)
I've seen so many support bands suffer from poor sound I do wonder whether it is the band's fault. Sometimes I know it is if the band did not turn up for a sound check, but usually the sound engineer can get the sound sorted within a few minutes of the first song. Again, the band being overly loud or distorted is the sound engineer not the band themselves, a band's onstage back-line equipment is simply not powerful enough to be loud. This happens far too often to be "co-incidence" - I can't recall one single gig I've been to where the support act sounded perfect and the headline sounded crap - it's the other way around every time.
What?

Nope. But there are not so many opportunities in Czech Rep.Cry I' ve seen only Deep Purple and although it was great, i missed Jetro tull, VDGG or Jon Anderson and Dream Theater and I will always regret. And Rush will probably never come.My bro was more succesful (he's older and has more money) and he has seen almost all of those.

I've seen Dream Theater twice, but I've never seen Rush, Transatlantic nor Porcupine Tree! Hope someday! Smile

Nope, though I saw a band that was (at the time) my favorite, Magma.  Awesome, awesome show.  Cardiacs don't play live because of Tim's illness, so I can't ever see my current favorite live. Cry

Devin Townsend live was utterly amazing, too.

Unfortunately, I am too young to have seen most of my favorite bands at their peak, or even at all. I have, however, seen Yes twice and Rush twice. I'm going to see Tull on their upcoming tour, and I hope that that'll be a good show. I would also love to see PT live.

I recall writing this down before, but maybe not here on PA:

1. Saw Kansas a few times between 1976-1978
2. Saw Yes - GFTO tour, 1977.  Absolutely, the BEST concert I ever remember!
3. Saw Camel in 1978.
4. Saw UK as an opener for Jethro Tull, 1979.
5. Saw Peter Gabriel a couple of times, 1982-1984.

Then, I got married in 1985 and never had extra money to go see concerts anymore...

Also seen Rush (3 times, I think), the Jethros, the Moodies, Neurosis (opening for Pantera!), Kansas, Floyd (post-Waters), Primus, Tool (with Meshuggah opening) and that's all I can think of.  (Do TSO count?)

Don't know how I missed Mr. Bungle.  Saw 'em twice - once in the "masked" era, and once on the California tour with the Dillinger Escape Plan opening.

I've seen my favourite band, Porcupine Tree. Also seen Opeth, another of my favourites.

Still want to see Dream Theater.
Hello, mirror. So glad to see you, my friend. It's been a while...

Oh yeah Hawkwind and More Hawkwind i first saw them at the Reading festival 1975 and have lost count how many times i have seen them since.  would be well over 500 times in so many various settings festivals small clubs  etc one  my fav venue's  to see the hawks was always Hammersmith Odean they always did good gigs there.

Then  there the gig i saw them do on flatbed truck in  laybye at the side of the Rd and of course the wonderful and infamous Treworgey Tree Fair  there really isn't nothing like a Hawkwind Gig.

Will have to sit have a think and make a list of all the Porg bands i have seen over years memory not what it was haha.

will be back with said list later . also have to give a shout out to the Gong Family which also  seen many times over the years and in many different guises .
