Genesis was more commercial? In what way, I always thought Tull was much
more commercial. They're great either way I'm just saying thats what I
always thought.

GENESIS.

They are the expression of the word PROGRESSIVE ROCK.

Enchanting music.

Tull, I really like Genesis a lot but the musicianship of Ian Anderson is really impressive. Jethro Tull is one of my favorite bands for sure.

As I really love Thick as a Brick and never really got into Genesis, I vote for Tull

1968-1980

if u rate the bands just from their original albums, not including compliations such as living in the past etc. I think it is about a draw or tull may just win because they have recorded more albums. But if you gather every song both bands recorded in that period, Tull definately win because they have 3 or 4 albums worth of strong bonus material in the period alone. Tull also win easily from 1981 onwards because of the albums plus yest another 2 cd's of strong bonus material

I would say Genesis, but you were not specific on which era of Genesis. If
you include the post-peter gabriel albums, Jethro Tull looks a lot better.

Tull. Their trilogy Aqualung/TAAB/APP is better than any other Genesis album.

PS: I'm not a great fan for any of these groups, but have all their classic material.

Genesis.

JT is an excellent band too, but they are more uneven.

personally, Genesis by a country mile, but that's because I've never really been able to get into Tull....
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

I think Genesis is a bit better, but I've only heard a few Tull albums.

I never liked Tull quite as much, the Collins era Genesis kinda gets overpowered by the brilliance of Firth of Fifth!

I'm going with Genesis!
