I bought a cd by a band called Crash Museum because they had ties to Psychotic Waltz. I was expecting prog rock or metal. There lyricist was a rapper. His name is Ebony Prince. Awful stuff. I like some rap, can't help it being from California. All the stuff I like is at least 15 years old though.

very ture, and also why in the world is it infeasable?
I do it all the time. Even with people who dont know music or time signitures.
One exapmle: My freind mike, at lunch, wanted me to lay down a beat box. So i did, but little to his knowlage, i was beating in 5/4( da doom ba shmm shmmm) and he started freestyling. With complete ease!and he's not even a rapper, nor does he know anything about rap, infact ...he's white.

I can strangle a canary in a tin can and it would be really original, but that wouldn't save it from sounding like utter sh*t.

I agree that there are alot of good hip hop out there! But why must it
go prog? Why cant we let good hip hop be good hip hop and good prog be
good prog? How would you guys feel if hip-hopers compelined about good
prog not being hip hop enough?
"Its really good and everything, its not hip hop but its sooooooooo close!"
Get my point. Let the new musical genres
progresse music, you dont progresse music by doing it the way rock was
made in the 70s, thats not progressive in any way!

I like both kinds of music. Dr. Dre is very awesome and so is N.W.A. If a person/group was clever enough to harmoniously combine the two, I think that would be a great achievement indeed.

Name calling will gain you nothing as I refuse to stoop to your level. I take solice in the fact that you read & replied to my post.
By the way, look up the meaning of the word Facetious.
Hey, think I'll click on over to Settings & change my username! sTUPid does have a nice ring to it.
(Sorry, I can't help myself, I was being facetious again).

I don't particularly like, or listen to, rap/hip hop but I have a name for the Prog-Rap band of the future: cRAP-tastic!
Yeah, I'm being facetious, but this idea has actually passed through some of the synapses in my brain. Yet to be fully digested, though.

I am totally blown away by DJ. Shadow, he is amazing. This is so different than hip hop, I highly recomend this to everyone. Anyone got any other recomendations for Dj. Shadow?

I command all of thee: Listen to cLOUDDEAD or get beaten into bloody pulps! Maybe not the latter, but cLOUDDEAD is worth a listen, though more an indie/hip-hop mix, there's some psychedelia in the mix as well.

I'm afraid your witty joke there was foiled by not typing the right words.
Humble?!?
I think ranger should play dungeons and dragons and live in the basement of his parents' house if he wants to listen to prog.
