My avatar is, of course, a detail from Gentle Giant's "Octopus" album, one of my all time favourite albums.
It's not taken from the album though, but from my limited edition silk screen print (1 of 50) that I bought directly from Roger Dean. Roger wasn't happy with the octopus eye detail on all of the prints, and so he hand painted all 50 of the screen prints, so the eye detail that I focus on is an original Roger Dean touch. It was great meeting Roger, and he kindly spent time drawing an original octopus sketch on the bottom of my print which made it extra special. The avatar reminds me of a great album, but also of meeting Roger Dean and his kindness in creating an original drawing for me, which is very special to me.

Mine is obviously meant to portray a subliminal, radically subversive political statement. Mine has changed, and likely will again. On the account I was forced to create (@http://www.progarchives.com/Collaborators.asp?id=63577), the avatar is of my late cat Rocky. Sometimes, I use a gif of Rocky, the cat fresh from a toilet dive (my current avatar), and a picture or two of myself interspersed. Although, it goes way too fast. I need to get that one reigned in and under control...

It's a cocuyo, basically a click beetle that glows. Here in the Caribbean people love to put these in jars and make their own natural lantern with them. I use it as my avatar in my other sites too and even have it tattooed on my left breast. Cocuyos are great :)

I changed mine recently so now my old description several pages back no longer makes sense. Therefore I must do this again. I saw this cartoon somewhere, but the album cover was non-descript so I made it very descript, and added glasses and facial hair to the guy to make him look a heck of a lot like me.

Mine comes from one of the most intriguing rock art panels (Native American) I've ever seen near Moab, UT. I took a photo and modified/coloredit a bit for my prog radio show "Rock Art" (at KZMU Moab in 2012).

I'm a fish out of water, which is probably why I dig Aquacadia's music. Every song on YouTube has something to do with water. Definitely born under the right sign. 🐟

The band will probably continue, and I have restored my avatar. The allegation of right-wing friends of our guitarist turned out to be a misunderstanding. He has no right-wing friends (I confused the project of his former bandmates with something else); and certainly, he himself is not a rightist either, and that's what matters here. Yet, there are still some open issues in our band relating to the pace of progress, but all of us are of the opinion that these can be settled. We all want to continue!

Mine is a frame from “The Secret of NIMH”, still IMO one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, traditionally-animated film ever. I thought it would provide something of an ironic counterpoint to my username. The accompanying caption I found appropriate for some individuals on this forum and on the web in general.
That must be the one on the “Most
provocative lyrics” thread which I just happened to bump a few days ago. |

(Reading this as I'd just bumped into some lyrics with a line about "becoming a wise hair that renounces to [falling into] soup"...) Anyone name any other restaurant that can afford this slogan !
