While I do believe the officiating was getting out of hand in terms of pass interference and roughing the passer and stuff like that...I do want to point out some irony.

Probably not on purpose but due to incomptence, we are getting actually what a lot of people want: "letting them play"
Aaaaand a lot of players hate it. Complaints of holding, dirty play, alot of sh*t going uncalled.
So to all the "old schoolers" sorry the game has indeed changed and no one REALLY wants to see the ol wild west days anymore.

Ok...my initial reaction to the play was a TD as I stated earlier......This picture clearly shows Tate had possesion of the ball with both feet on the ground while Jennigs was still in the air with neither foot on the ground and also possesion of the ball......
By NFL rules its a TD and the replacement refs made the right call........

Why?

I'm mostly referring to how many times they trailed in that game and the field goal at the end of the game barely squeaking in.

Of course, on second look I probably worded that poorly. They did manage to persevere and keep themselves in the game throughout. And Week 1 still has a sore taste in my mouth. Wink Dead

Just put yourself into a mindset that I am gonna sit down and watch a very good D3 college ref'd game.....There are a bazillion college games everyweek with at best HS refs and people just deal with it.

But I totally get your pain......I can see the NFL not doing anything as well as doing something quickly, GODell is so unpredictable on his actions.

College refs?College refs?

You know some of these replacement refs were fired by the damned LINGERIE LEAGUE for incompetence?

About the refs.....IMO, as bad as it might be....the NFL teams need to deal with it. Its a bad, bad, bad pill to swallow, but its kinda the same deal if a team looses their starting QB for the year as well as star RB and WR.....Fill in 2nd 3rd string players will fill in and the team will limp thru the season.

S.Young and the boyz on ESPN after the game ripped the NFL big time.....Idk if that helps or hurts the NFL.......IMO last night from a PR vision, was TV brilliance and to me will only make more people watch/go to NFL games this year........

Yeah, hope this doesn't impact the playoffs. I mean, it does since every game does technically but in the long run hope those teams that succeed/fail do regardless of this game.

Too tired to find a source but I have heard that is indeed the intent, also they wanted back up refs and stuff like that.
Yeah I'd give to most of the demands, long as nothing is outrageous.

Yeah, I'm sure we're going to hear opinion after opinion on that decision. But the thing that scares me is what happens if the NFL and refs don't get some kind of deal done soon. If you think it's bad now, wait until officiating ends up deciding on a team getting into the postseason, the playoffs, or the Super Bowl. I think the NFL will end up taking a huge PR hit if it gets to that point.

Hell if I was the NFL, I'd go ahead and give in to most of the concessions at this point. But my understanding is that the NFL wants to gradually eliminate all pensions and retirement benefits for the refs. Idk if that's true or not but if someone has a source to link to that, I'd appreciate seeing it.

Oh I agree JJ........all I can say is on first impression as the play unfolded....I thought Tate had the ball. So TD to me....but then thru replay it was clearly an INT.
Both may have had hands on the ball but Jennings had the most possesion.

Yea Seattle D looked really freaking awesome!!!!!

Ah but Catcher, while simultaneous possession goes to the offense, they were saying that one player possessing the ball, and it's then taken away is NOT simultaneous possession. Which it certainly looked like.
Well, I will wait to hear all voices in the following week. I'm sure 9001 opinions a day will fly about it. But I gotta say there was a robbery in this game.

Shame it will take away what was a great defensive game from  Seattle. Really, the cautious passing is what kept it close.
And hey, I thought Kolb looked pretty solid. NFC West is looking strong indeed, especially with these brutal defenses.

WOW.
Well, Seattle wins...I guess?
I'm always one to put it on the team, and not refs but yikes...a terrible PI call, a terrible non call (though when do you see off pass interference?) and a catch that was pretty much interception. Regardless, that was some sh*tty officiating.
Edit: Yeah, more I see that was a pick. Damn

The defense was pretty sick though. If they can open up the pass game a little bit that's one helluva team.

Indeed. A couple of WRs and that could be a pretty sweet team all around. Same could be said for the cards...just with a QB instead of WRs. Perhaps the nfc west isn't the worst in the league anymore.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me

Jesus...most controversial game ever?

I don't even know where to begin. D Pass Int while the offensive player is drapped all over the defender?! Tate's shove in the endzone...the two non interceptions interceptions....goodness.

Sad thing is I was rooting for the Hawks...but the pack should of won. Horrific.
