that's quite an incorrigible and crude thing to say. i've never encountered anything quite so insulting, and homophobic in my life.

Interesting that the Beatles and the Stones made your list. Hard to imagine modern music without either.

A few I despise:
1. Family Force Five. Generic Christian crap.
2. Bring Me the Horizon. Generic talentless poser Deathcore crap.
3. The Jonas Brothers. Why, just why?
4. KISS. ... | lol, have you heard of this indie band called Final Fantasy? when you name yourself after a game, i don't know, makes me think they're probably not that good, so maybe i'll turn into a big FF fan someday.
then again they might grow on me as a lot of bands have, one of which
was AC/DC, used to hate them, now i think the Bon Scott-era was
alright, good music to not think to

| that's quite an incorrigible and crude thing to say. i've never encountered anything quite so insulting, and homophobic in my life. and to think when i joined the forum you were the first one to welcome me in with open arms, what an about face eh? the lamb takes off it's skin to revel the slimier underbelly its peers find unacceptable. that strikes me as very obvious if the person is rather repressed and unaccepting of alternatives to the status quo. PS i was not aware that Verdana was considered to be an unacceptable font, and if so why is it available from the script editor? or are you not as powerful as you make yourself appear, like the blowfish that expands its body not out of agression, but rather out of the fear that it knows it's only but a fish, and a fish it remain.

Musically, there is much, much worse out there. Their original bassist is actually pretty good. My brother was quite into them until he felt they sold out.
It's just seems the whole onstage orgy and the pseudo-satanic imagery smacks of a pretty low marketing ploy, though pretty effective. I'm just waiting on Simon Cowell to realise he could make big money going down this route.

cant talk long, bunch of coursework i have to finish. but i will say, that i agree with you totally, i thought it was a marketing ploy as well. when you say the sold out, you mean when they changed their name to MT-TV, cuz i thought that as well, their music has been watered-down for mass-consumption i feel. lol, if Simon Cowell discovers this ploy, i'll actually start watching AI again, though i'd be pretty impressed if the conservatives allowed it to last long

Oh....my.....GOD!
No one has mentioned Stryper or ABBA yet?!? These two bands are truly THE WORST BANDS EVER! ABBA is an abomination that somehow manages to permeate mainstream culture today: remember that awful Mamma Mia "movie" made recently? Yeah. It's kind of sad, too, because Sweden harbors some really awesome metal and other music, but ABBA is kind of like a big coffee stain on that picture...
Stryper is just awful. They claim that their music is christian-based, but if anything they are an abomination to mankind, or at least Christianity. I would rather watch paint dry or slam my face into a cinder block than listen to them! Aaaaaahhh!...
Now that I mentioned these two horrible bands, I think I'll go listen to something better, like everything else that's not ABBA or Stryper.

Would you like some Bailey's?

Conor Fynes you sound like a relatively new member, as i would say prog-ravers (i coined that by the way, and you should use it too ) are no more experienced in the way of music appreciation than any other demographic, in fact, when one listens to YES, Rush or any other "Dinosaur Spinal Tap" band and what they consider to be music, one has to question the reasoning abilities of some prog-ravers. my distain for some of progs obsurd indulgences probably stems from the fact that when i picked up a guitar at 18, i formed a Punk/Alternative band immediately, however, my tastes and writing has evolved since then. but i post this in some kind of pink because i mean this in a friendly way, friendly fire, now let's share some Listerine!

Looks so much better in a normal font size. It's actually READABLE now.
| does that suit your fancy more, big boy? i'm much to eccentric to post like everybody else, and besides, what purpose does it serve to look and act like everybody else? if i wanted to do what other people do, i'd listen to crunk and go crumpin like everyone else, now you see how futile it is to mimic the behavior of others, let alone try and attain some imaginary definition of 'normal'. you really need to loosen up big boy, might i suggest some HASHeten?

Most motown - bloody wedding reception music !!! I also dislike Mariah Carey and Macey Grey - nothing personal but their music/singing does absolutely nothing for me, I'd sooner listen to fingernails scratching along a blackboard. I've got no time for any of these karaoke singers from X-Factor and the like either.
