For anyone who'se read or seen Obama's  speech re : Rev Wright - do you  think that in a non-partisan & realistic world that this would clinch the presidency ? It was refreshing to see  controversy be addressed honestly rather than spun by PR flaks.

^ Spoilsport, conspiracy theories are fun.  Then again sometimes conspiracy isn't really even needed.

Clinton was picked along time ago for the job as head puppet.
Politics is nothing more than a show for the public. It matters not who is president for whomever is president takes his or her orders from a group of very well positioned very very rich corporate people who keep their power through strict adherence to maintaining "proper" blood lines (keeping it in the family). They are the Sheppard's and we are the sheep.

Is it just me or does McCain have jowls like the Family Guy character Quagmire?  Hillary reminds me of Lois for some reason. LOL

Actually, Hillary unites the Republican party against her. They've gotten over Bill, more or less, but they still hate her. This primary cycle has shown me that much of that hatred is justified. I wasn't politically aware until after they were no longer relevant so I didn't really understand it, but damn her campaign has pulled a lot of crap. Her naked ambitition, complete shamelessness, and bullheaded stubbornness are frightening.

But, as I said before, unless she pulls some crap with the Supers (which I think is her plan) or this Wright thing really sinks Obama, she's unlikely to pull ahead.

I'm not an american so I qualify for this thread. I go for Barack Obama as I want a democrat to win and he has a far better shot at defeating Ancient Joe Mc than Hillary, as national polls show. i don't want another anti-immigration anti-government anti-taxes pro-war pro-intervention pro-church pro-"high morals' to win the presidency. Besides, Obama's inexperience is actually a plus. And he's a uniter as much as W has been a divider. Hillary, sadly, divides her own, but unites the republican party in a crusade against "sinful" Bill Clinton.

There's actually some debate about this.  Strictly reading the Constitutional amendment which deals with presidential term limits, he would.  However, there's also another amendment that states that people who don't meet the qualifications to be President can't run for Vice-President.  It's really only an intellectual exercise, as practically it will never happen.
The other debate is over whether the provision that the president has to be native born applies to John McCain, who is the son of American citizens but was born in Panama.  Again this is really just an intellectual exercise, but makes for some mildly interesting speculation.
The McCain thing is so dumb. Seriously, jus sanguinis and the 14th amendment.

The Bill thing doesn't really matter because Hillary's not going to get the nomination, and there is not a chance she would choose him. :P

I very wary of going for either one of the big parties. Of course the democrats seem better than republicans because there's been a republican there now. People have very short political memory, what feels bad at the moment is so much more important than what has happened in the past. I'm not saying that i'd like bush. What I'm saying, is: I'd personally vote for someone who in fact, as you americans describe it, liberal, not a conservative as these both are. Two big money driven parties you see. i should think if you want to vote it's at least your responsibility to find out about all the candidates, not just the ones that are always on the headlines, because they are the ones who aere paying a lot of corrupt money to get the spot there. I'd go for someone completely outside of this donkey-elephant moneywasting battle.

Though as a realist I know in your great nation this will never happen. Well, not in the following 200 years if we're still alive on earth. So studying the topic, I was first pretty much behind Clinton, keeping it to myself. Probably because McCain is everything I've always fought against, and Hillary represents something new to the country, and to the world. But then I started thinking, Do I really assume having a woman there would change anything? Well, in fact the only refreshment there would be an ideological one between
the women /men separation. Then, wouldn't it be better to strike two flies with one... you know. Barack Obama is younger. He's not related to a former president like all the others you've had for the past what, 20 years? And after B. Clintons cover up politics... And he's african-american. But lately I've been thinking about it. Am I letting emotional issues affect my opinion. Frankly, Obamas agenda is closer to that of McCain's.

It's undeniable, that should it be a democrat then later, it'll be a huge step along the lines of humanity for the USA, but for politics, well, the USA has always been a world police and will stay that way for long, and you can see it in the international law statement and well, in action too.

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

It needs to switch back and forth so neither army takes over the country.
