Tony - you need to expose your daughter to Canvey Island's finest:

Dr Feelgood

Then she'll know what R&B means...

Reggaeton fills that space for us in Chile this days.

Interesting... it seems that some (all?) places have their own 'pop', completely unknown outside its country/cultural area of origin, somewhat alternative to mainstream pop, but, on the whole, even less ambitious. The Polish example would be 'disco polo'.

BTW, how widespread or popular is reggaeton? South America only, or South America + Central America/the Caribbean + Latin American communities in the U.S.?

Haha, a hard-to-choose poll but I voted for Gangsta Rap, altough Mainstream Country Crossovers and Classic Rock Reunions comes close.

I don't consider Gnarls Barkley really rap, but even if they are, they're an example of someone doing something different for once in a very stale genre...someone should do something like that to country, all the songs sound like the same damned thingAngry

Vacuum definitely sucks more. I mean, at least every single choice in the poll is a music genre. Things you don't like exist for many valuable reasons, not just to bother you.

there is a genre I believe you would all detest and I am very glad most of you don't even know it...its called dog-songs and it is almost a greek discovery. It sucks more than anything else I have ever heard! And it is the mainstream of this country... You cannot imagine how it feels like here... it is not in the poll so I voted for country which irritates me a little bit more than gangsta rap... although gangsta rap is admitadly quite stupid.
But here if I could trade dog-songs for gangsta rap I would GLADLY!

If you want to verify my accusations download anything from people called:
Sarbel, Giwrgo Tsalikh, Despoina Vandi, Peggy Zina.

P.S. There is only one topic and ofcourse they all talk about LOVE! All the time... In any way...Come, go, please don't leave me, I don't need you..blah blah blah!

The universe is in constant pursuit of a celestial home.

Rap sucks because it is musically horrible and has no substance of ideas either. Mostly it is anti-feminist and violent.
