Isn't it the league mandate that the Yankees get what the Yankees want and that other teams not named Boston must bend over backwards to make sure that this mandate is met?

I can absolutely guarantee you that the Yankees do not get Felix. They would have to offer half of their farm system to have the Ms not laugh them off the phone.

I think I can do that....I do like the Phillies, have not rooted for a NL team since leaving the LA area back in '83....big Dodger fan I was growing up, I also liked the Angels, but not so much now..back then they were cool team. Although I think Sciosa (sp) is pretty smart baseball guy.

I keep hearing from my boss (who is a big, big NYY fan) that they will get King Felix from the M's before season end.....I just don't see that happening. Because to your point above, the M's have no offense...but they have pretty good pitching right now. Why put yourself in a position to need both offense and pitching, if you give up Felix.

Glad to see the Pirates playing well, although I am hoping that the Reds pull that division out as they are my favorite National League team.  Not that I am a big fan anymore like I used to be as a kid.  Anyhow, Tigs and Indians are tied once again coming in today, with the Indians playing a double header and the Tigers having an off-day.  It looks as though the Indians are going to win the first game, so I guess I am hoping for a split; although I still have a feeling that by the end of the season the Twins are going to be the team that the Tigs are going to have to worry about.

1/2 game out and the Reds are in. I saw on Sportcenter last night that they won #49, it took them til September last year to do that. Just 32 more wins to break the streak.

Yes the Buccos are tied for first. The test comes soon as they are to play the Reds and Cards back to back.

That is the league's policy.  They don't want to encourage idiots to go on to the field so that they can get TV coverage.

And I believe that the Tigers' annual 2nd half collapse has officially begun.  Verlander was pretty awful last night and the Tigers got spanked by the White Sox 8 to 2.

I noticed during the Jays/Yankees game that there were at least 2 instances of fans running onto the field (I was juggling this with CFL football), but they did not air the fan footage on TV.  I'm wondering if it's league practice for channels to cut away from this stupidity to not give these jackasses publicity.  I know I've seen it on TV sometimes, so that mustn't be the case.

Royals end on a two run homer by Hosmer and save by Soria. Any Twins fans here? I wanna see you cry. Stern Smile

Does feel good for the Pirates, but we're approaching the time they sell all their good players to "restart"

Maybe this year they actually won't Shocked

But I wont hold my breathe

When they announced the All Stars before the game, they announced Miguel Cabrera as Felix Hernandez.  Oops.

Unfortunately the M's are done for the season. 6 games under .500 with a monster trip to the east coast coming up after this winless stand against Texas is done with...

Who should I root for now?

First of all, he's a man so why the glove?  Bare-hand it!!! LOL

The obsession over foul/homerun balls is too ridiculous for me to fathom.  It seems like twice a week at least, you see an adult fight a defenseless kid over one. Ouch

Could have been the second death of the week over a baseball. Some people must not value their life over a piece of cowhide.

I got scared when I saw Bautista make that sliding catch in the game recap.
