Yeah, him and Fielder (I always associate the two because they're the NL's most prominant fat sluggers) have both been struggling this year.

Well you wouldn't want Johnson. He must be at the end of his career.....at least one of these years.

An interesting read about a unemployed ball player.

It wasn't just that play, Betemit had about six singles go straight through him. If Morgan Ensburg was playing third, Yanks win that game by 2.

Carlos Guillen hasn't been very impressive at 3rd base either, although he did make one hell of a play yesterday. I assume that rileydog22 is referring to Belemit's matador play at 3rd where he yelled OLE and turned and let the ball go by him like he was waving a red cape to a bull. It was a good game last night. Todd "The rollercoaster" Jones definitely made it interesting at the end by letting in 3 runs in the 9th in order to close the gap from 6-2 to 6-5.

Wilson Betemit is the worst fielder in the history of third base. I want Scott Proctor back

Bad management, Bad player moves. No one wants to play in Pittsburgh, it's not a flashy market. I think the only way they would get players in is if they got into another string like they had in the 70's and early 90's. If they got into the playoffs enough some players would go there for a chance for a ring otherwise it might be like the 40's and 50's where they stunk it up and were always at the bottom of the division.

The Cards game last nite was hilarious. The Cards win on a walk off HR and they act like they had just won the World Series. It is less than 30 games into the season and they are acting like this was a must win game to put themselves into the playoffs.
Go figure.
