I can't decide, but I should mention that I much prefer their instrumental pieces as the vocals are not always 100%. (sorry Greg, love your voice on From the Begining)

Fanfare For The Common Man was my vote. Emerson gets into some wierd time signatures on this one. Works is one of my favourite ELP albums. No, it is my favourite ELP album. It showcases the individual talents of the three members including Carl.Fanfare For The Common Man was a Olympic main theme as well.

True! That was the first ELP track I liked (as a thirteen year old)

The Old Castle/Blues Variation is my fave... Emerson's Moog and Hammond fiery pyrotechnics, Lake's bass is rough and precise, and Palmer's drumming is archetypical. The perfcect sample for a newbie!!

I was looking for "Trilogy", I forgot about Greg Lake singing a bit on that one! Begs the question what consitutes an instrumental. For example, is Pink Floyd's "One of these days" an instrumental? Guess that's a whole new topic though.Wink

Almost chose "Bolero", but went for "Fanfare".

My favourite is 'Hoedown'  although I expect 'Fanfare....' to win.
