I can't see the best band on the list, that's U2. In their abscence, I'm voting for the Foos.

Probably one of the most influential alternative rock bands of the late 80's.Surfer Rosa and Doolittle are great albums. Anyone here ever heard of Sunny Day Real Estate? |

Of the ones listed, Coldplay. Prefer Muse though (and neither is a Radiohead impersonation).

Cannot say what is the best group - I'm not very interested in modern mainstream rosk - but Franz Ferdinand definitely deserve to be on the list. At least.

Out of that list, the only thing I don't like is Billy Corgan.

SoaD of course. Although I think their latest album is prog. I also love Coldplay. And NIN isn't a bad band at all. |

Even though Audioslave contains members from each of those bands they sound nothing like them. The band doesn't play with the intensity that they did in their RATM days and Cornell is wasting his voice with Audioslave because he sings nothing like he did with Soundgarden, where his vocal work was absolutely outstanding. Audioslave is a sub par band. |

Where is Incubus when you need them. They're not prog but they sure do experiment quite often. Check out S.C.I.E.N.C.E. Great, great album.

Cornell doesn't quite cut it with the old RATM boys - Zach de le rocha was a much better fit. |
