Yes,they are still touring.Their new album Teleincision should be out this year and the band Isis is already rumored to be the opening act.And while Maynard James Keenan has stressed emphatically that APC is NOT a side project he has also stated that ^ is his main band and takes precedence over everything.

^ I meant to put TOOL there. And Mike,if you only buy ONE Tool cd buy Lateralus.

It's my theory that this is common for all truly great bands (or indeed artists in general).

Yes, but I don't like them that much. A boring band for me.

Of course they are prog!
VERY few bands these days are doing as much to push music forward as Tool. Theirs is the most complex, layered, mathematical, beautiful rock music made (IMO of course). Every note of the music is meaningful and in the perfect place. I could go on for hours about the Lateralus album alone.
I can't wait for the new album and hopefully the subsequent tour. There are rumors of a live DVD coming out in August, but nothing has been confirmed as far as i know.

I am a huge fan of this band and see them praised and denounced in pretty much equal measure on this site. But I see some people don't consider them prog or prog metal and that astounds me because their last 2 albums are most definitely prog metal. What does everyone else think?
And I think they are prog and one of the best bands out there right now.Catch them live if you like them and haven't seen them yet, their performance live is perfection...flawless.
