Indeed. It was the most ridiculous decision in commercial aviation history.
If it had been an American project, it would still be flying. They said it was because of that one awful crash, that BA and AF decided to ground and mothball the whole fleet. This clearly wasn't the case. There was a time when 737's were falling our of the sky like dead birds, in comparison. They weren't grounded, because they were cash cows, and most used short haul jet, the world over. |
i think it was partly becouse it costed a fortune and a litle bit more to drift it, and make it airborn, with fuel, repairing, and safety. also they made A LOT of noice.
