I voted for literature, chemistry, biology, physics, geology, classical art, music, sports (tennis actively, soccer passively), video games (by Blizzard mostly; I like the Starcraft, Warcraft and Diablo series), board games (chess), poetry (I write poems myself), cookery (I own a restaurant with my partner), mathematics (I was a child prodigy there).
other things not included on the list: astronomy, yoga, tarot, religion (I am a high priestess of Gaia, the ancient Greek Goddess of the Earth). and probably many more things which just don't come to my mind right now. I have many interests

BaldJean and I; I am the one in blue.

Several of the above subjects interest me, but these ones are a bit stronger than the others:

Physics (Though I could easily just say science in general)

History (in particular genealogy, though I wish I had more knowledge of my ancestry)

Music (like several genres of music, I play bass, and am just starting to learn the drums)

Sports (particularly basketball, hockey, football, and baseball.  I also have a small sports card collection.)

Video Games (all sorts, especially retro gaming and collecting)

Board Games (None in particular.  I find they are a great way to bond with friends and family.  They were a big part of my childhood.)

Engineering (Currently studying Electrical Engineering in university)

Even though I am still a newbie in this area, Philosophy is really intriguing to me.  I go to a Philosophy Club at my school every Thursday.  We have some really interesting conversations there.

The title of this thread reminds me of one of my favorite quotes from the late great George Carlin:

"Names are an interest of mine.  Not a hobby; hobbies cost money.  Interests are quite free."

"Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard." -- H.L. Mencken

Music (I play the bass guitar and more recently and rather less seriously a newly acquired Jew's Harp, soon to be followed by harmonica), biology (Bachelor's degree this summer, then onto Master's), literature (essentially everything, but a special love for Russian literature and "cult fiction"), history, politics, games (RPGs), cookery from the list.
Everything is interesting though, but you have to prioritize Wink.

Just like Dean, I have a general interest in science, perhaps excluding engineering.
I also love wine, beer and whisky. Not in that way, no need to worry. But fine varieties of all those, including their history, the processes of making them, the cultural and historical part - basically the whole package.

Music, history, genealogy, politics (although I'm slowly losing my interest there), reading, hiking, cooking, Sci-fi tv.  Smile

Music is my biggest interest, but I also voted video games, sports, and literature. Smile

I am a huge sports fan, at least at the college level, and especially football. This is the worst time of year for me, as everything has recently wrapped up in that department (although it is national signing day...woo!). As much as I love playing sports, I am terrible at them, so I haven't in years.

I also gave a vote to drama, which is probably, next to music, the thing that I enjoy doing the most. A possible career choice, depending on how the next couple of years go.

Good Poll Jen, though the subjects are a bit schoolish for me I voted for a number of them: literature, art (modern), music, archeology/history, architecture, cookery, engineering, design, maths, other.

I'm the sole "engineering" voter so far - and I have to qualify that a little - only electronics since anything mechanical bores me to tears - even though it is my profession I still do a bit of home-hobby electronics, anything from BEAM robots, pointless flashing lights, guitar effects and anything that will make a noise, I've dabbled with circuit-bending from time to time - currently I'm playing with an Arduino, which is a little circuit card you can program from your PCs USB port to do all sorts of things, although I can't think of an application at the moment.

I didn't vote for any of the -ologies, but I'm interested in science of all disciplines (except biology when it gets too medical).

As for other - computing and programming; thinking; making musical instruments; gardenning.
What?

I would have voted "Arts" or "Visual Arts", but I don't get the separation between "Modern" and "Classical" art.

Music is first for me, as besides listening to it I enjoy playing it and I'm getting into recording, mixing, etc. courtesy of a class I'm in.  After music, I'd say literature and physics are the next most influential two.

Baring in mind I'm a musician, I think Music is my only REAL interest. In close second, History is probably the most interesting of the rest. Then Philosophy.
