Quite a few of them - literature, poetry, drama, art (all of the categories mentioned), politics, music, archaeology/history, cookery. Voted 'other' for crafts.

Ah cooking...an art I so appreciate yet could never master! If I didn't live with my mother I would surely starve! I have much respect for people who love cooking for that very reason.

It is an art indeed, and much easier to master than you would think. You're young, so you have plenty of time to learn. It is very much worth it, I assure you - not only as regards taste, but for keeping healthy as well.

Yeah, tell me about it. It's great when Ma cooks from scratch 'cause you know you're not getting loads of weird additives and chunks of fat in your grub. Plus the fresher food is the better it tastes without a doubt.

Well:
Literature at first. Love to read historic novels and I'm writing one, I hope to end it in a couple of months. That's really my main interest right now.
Music, of course, Rock mainly but there's a lot of different expressions that I love. Not just listen but composition as well.
Video Games. I'm an addict, lucky that I have no time for my addiction, so I do play only in my free weekends (which there aren't that much) and in the lonely nights when I don't have nothing to do (and my computer works).
I voted Sociology as well, I'm a jounalist and spend two years doing articules and investigation about guatemalan society, an excellent and complex topic but great.
Like Rob said, cultural anthropology is another great topic, linked with sociology so... there you go... Nice poll man... ![Thumbs Up Thumbs Up](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley20.gif)
PD: I like to cook as well, but I have like 3 years of not doing it and would be a lie if I put it as a hoobie, is more like a wish... I want to retake it... but the other hoobies above don't let me have time to do it...

Several from the list including history, music(making), sports (10k -> marathons, aiming to do my first triathlon this year if I can avoid injuries!!). Used to love the Sega Megadrive (US Genesis), mainly RPGs.

Good Poll Jen, though the subjects are a bit schoolish for me I voted for a number of them: literature, art (modern), music, archeology/history, architecture, cookery, engineering, design, maths, other.
I'm the sole "engineering" voter so far - and I have to qualify that a little - only electronics since anything mechanical bores me to tears - even though it is my profession I still do a bit of home-hobby electronics, anything from BEAM robots, pointless flashing lights, guitar effects and anything that will make a noise, I've dabbled with circuit-bending from time to time - currently I'm playing with an http://www.arduino.cc/ - Arduino , which is a little circuit card you can program from your PCs USB port to do all sorts of things, although I can't think of an application at the moment.
I didn't vote for any of the -ologies, but I'm interested in science of all disciplines (except biology when it gets too medical).
As for other - computing and programming; thinking; making musical instruments; gardenning.

I am a huge sports fan, at least at the college level, and especially football. This is the worst time of year for me, as everything has recently wrapped up in that department (although it is national signing day...woo!). As much as I love playing sports, I am terrible at them, so I haven't in years.
I also gave a vote to drama, which is probably, next to music, the thing that I enjoy doing the most. A possible career choice, depending on how the next couple of years go.

Music (I play the bass guitar and more recently and rather less seriously a newly acquired Jew's Harp, soon to be followed by harmonica), biology (Bachelor's degree this summer, then onto Master's), literature (essentially everything, but a special love for Russian literature and "cult fiction"), history, politics, games (RPGs), cookery from the list. Everything is interesting though, but you have to prioritize .
Just like Dean, I have a general interest in science, perhaps excluding engineering. I also love wine, beer and whisky. Not in that way, no need to worry. But fine varieties of all those, including their history, the processes of making them, the cultural and historical part - basically the whole package.

Several of the above subjects interest me, but these ones are a bit stronger than the others:
Physics (Though I could easily just say science in general)
History (in particular genealogy, though I wish I had more knowledge of my ancestry)
Music (like several genres of music, I play bass, and am just starting to learn the drums)
Sports (particularly basketball, hockey, football, and baseball. I also have a small sports card collection.)
Video Games (all sorts, especially retro gaming and collecting)
Board Games (None in particular. I find they are a great way to bond with friends and family. They were a big part of my childhood.)
Engineering (Currently studying Electrical Engineering in university)

I have many interests

if medicine can be melted with biology, I vote biology (although this is purely job-related interest).
I like art (paintings, sculptures, photographies). No need to separate modern and classical. I drawed and painted a lot in my younger days.
Poetry, litterature and drama pertain all to Litterature, no ? I like all three, although I am not a monster in reading.
Sport : mainly jogging, but I used to play badminton and tennis in the past.
I am not a musician, but like Music a lot, and I try to be VERY eclectic in my tastes (see the "what are you listening to" thread).
Also, stamp collecting.
And as we are on a prog forum, let me quote one of our icons :

Yes, pagan rituals. For example, on the solstices and equinoxes we paint ourselves head to toe in the colour of the beginning season - green for the grass of spring, red for the blossoms of summer, yellowish-brown for the leaves of autumn and white for the snow of winter. Synthesizers. Patches, oscillators, filters and stuff. Synth architectures, waveforms. Programming.
Math, mostly calculus and number theory. Have plenty of scrapbooks full of scribbles of my calculations and theories. Anyone can discover new (non-self-referential) constants, rules and sets of numbers even if they're trivial.
Literature. Any good book, but I prefer science fiction.
Reading and writing poetry ,published some poems, will do a book before summer.
Art in many forms. Prerafaelites. Art nouveau, both in paintings and in architecture. I can look at it for the whole day.
Some sciences: Philosophy, philology (languages in general), sociology, geography, astronomy. Nothing scholastic, only on a drinking-buddy level.
Philately.
Sex. Anytime, anywhere, anyhow. The more bizarre the better.
And perhaps my favourite: wondering around. Walking, driving my car, going from here to eternity, deciding to go somewhere out of the blue, in the middle of the night, showing up at strange places, towns, forests, coasts, mountains. Discovering paths and roads, even undergrounds.
________________________________________________________
I can show a mild interst in basically anything, but one of the things that really means nothing in my life is sport of any kind. Never.

Music other than prog... My love for classical has come back with a vengeance and it actually has surpassed prog in terms of hours per week.
Literature. I always have to have a book to read. I'm not a book eater, I'm not a book-per-day guy, but a book-per-week would be a better description.
Psychology, strongly related with literature lately. I also go to school for that so...
Video games (I have all three consoles, enough said).
Sports? Not much on this country (I follow the NFL only partially, like the Dolphins and the Colts). I follow Spanish soccer... If I was in my country, my passion for my team would take this to a whole other level...
Movies... Not much of a movie goes but a movie-buyer... And classics and old movies as well as not-so-old...
One word: geek.

In my youthful, drifter era, design and arts were two of the things I studied, so I also voted for both classical art and modern art, as well as design and architecture. Oh course, music, duh. History and literature too, ideally if they're combined.
