I like this one a lot even if it doesn't have the Magma logo on it.

I like it too, and I think it's better than the other one posted in this thread, which looks very amateur too me with its ugly faux-light Confused

For curiosity I started listening thru imeem.com Magma's modern album. It is pretty bizarre music, but despite a few sections which came close to grating to my ears, it has excellent songwriting in it.

The first 8-9 minutes of K.A. pt3 are incredibly beautiful.

I might be interested in this new album if given good reviews.

Can't imagine the new record without the Magma logo on the cover

I heard Emehnteht-Re (Extrait No. 2) on Udu Wudu as well.  Tongue

Regarding whether or not it'll be a complete new work, I have a feeling that Christian and crew won't just give us a medley, I'm sure it'll be an independent work.  Sure, the other pieces will be worked in, but I feel like they'll be altered, plus it'll include the material not available in any studio work, all the stuff they've worked out live.

Just as a little useless hyping thingamajig, for those of you who have heard the song live already, what extracts of other songs have you heard?

For example, I remember hearing some of Rinde (from Attahk), and I'm pretty sure some from Zombies (from Udu Wudu). Anything else, and maybe in what order too...

Also what do you think of them using extracts of many songs? I read somewhere that the "story" was spread out over Attahk and Udu Wudu anyway, but I kind of get the feeling that there's going to be a little medley going on rather than a complete work, opinions?

yeah that's where I got it from. personally i think the traditional one looks a bit more Magma-esque than the sarcophagus anyway...not even counting the medallian part of the picture.

Myself I took the cover from one of the leading Zeuhl blogs: http://kohntarkosz.blogspot.com/2009/09/cover-art-for-emehntehtt-re.html

Came from the same blog.

wow is that the cover? it looks similar to something a black metal band would put out...this is def going to be a dark album.

edit: hey wait, i call bullshit! first of all, the album name is spelt wrong, second: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BNP90JOg4yU/SoAA08BqKPI/AAAAAAAAAKY/MXeCe9o0thY/s1600-h/xxonlcuc.jpg

this seems more like it.

That's putting it mildly...this and the Gong album within a couple months of each other?  How, other than a Gong & Magma trip to Penn State to put on a day-long concert, could things get any better? Big smile

I've heard the future album played live in it's entirety. It's dark, repetitive and menacing, without that friendly sound from K.A. I'm not sure whether I'm going to like it, but it's definitely going to be strong.

ShockedShockedShockedShockedShockedShockedShockedShockedShockedShockedShockedShocked  That's two of my favorite artists releasing albums this year, along with Gong...I feel it's deserving of the gratuitous use of the shocked smiley.  I can't wait Big smile
