Amen fellow Alex. Also, the letter "a" refers to Portugese and Spanish females. 'Nuff said mate |

I'm kind of partial to the O because it is the first letter in orgasm.

clearly A is a male symbol and O is female, so it depends on which you relate to.. and A isn't the only letter that is also a word; B and bee, C and see, J and jay, R and are, T and tea, U and you, Y and why.

A, of course. It's the first letter of my name.

Tough one! I like 'O' because it's more open than 'A', but on the other hand I like 'A' because it's more stable than 'O'. I really wish I could decide, but I can't. I just can't!

Good luck dressing up matters of liking with arguments!
I think that anyone has his own associations with both letters. The A may be rigid where the O is flexible, linear versus round, black versus blue (according to Rimbaud who assigned colours to the vowels), a one-letter word versus a no-word letter (in English, not in Dutch), etcetera.
I like the A a bit more, so I draw the score equal without adding arguments.

I'll clear this up by making the best argument for "O" and against "A."
- "A" is a word by itself which makes it think it's better than all the other letters except for "I" when everyone knows it isn't. - "O" seems like a classier letter - You can make a face :O with the letter "O" but "A" can't do anything - "O" is "o" capitalized which makes sense. "A" looks nothing like "a" - In both "goad" and "goat" (two unquestionably awesome words) the "O" comes before the "A," thus displaying it's dominance so that it may attract a suitable mate such as "k" - Cheerios - The Letter People version of "O" has something undoubtedly intelligent to say (hence the open mouth) while "A" just looks like a brat http://www.geocities.com/letterfolks/lp_stickers.jpg - Throw a line on the "O" and you get "Q," stretch it out and you get "0," put a belt around it and you get "8." That's versatility. If anyone wants to argue for the sake of "A" I will gladly take up that battle of wits and you shan't emerge unscathed. |

I am aware that this is a bizaar question but it stems from an argument between a friend and I. He insists that A is the better letter and his polling data of people within earshot seemed to back him up. For the record my contention was that neither was "better", think I was trying to make a point about ridiculous comparisons actually.
