Damned fine album - I think his best since 'Murder Ballads'; a good combination of his dark visions/ballads/wicked sense of humour - nice one Nick!

Without a shadow of a doubt, the best album of 2004 is Ayreon's The Human Equation.
As for 2005, I'd say the best will probably end up being Porcupine Tree's Deadwing or The Mars Volta's Frances the Mute.

Of the few I've heard, "The Human Equation" (Ayreon), "One" (Neal Morse), and "Out of Myself" (Riverside). Sorry to repeat, but they're gooooooood.
now then: the best album of 2005? i vote for spock's beard's upcoming "octane". It'd better be good. (preview at their website)

I have to agree.
1. Riverside!
2. Happy the Man - The Muse Awakes
3. Salem Hill - Be (It may be 2003, but very late 2003.)
Dark Matter? Surely in the top 12-25.
It would have been better to have a poll of 20 choices of 2004 releases. I can't remember what came out this year, CRS for old proggers trying to act kool.
