Feel free to drop by when you are in Italy, as I still have some vintage Barolo (lovingly collected by my late father, who was a lover and connoisseur of fine wines) secreted in my cellar. I must admit it's not my favourite, as it is a bit to strong for my taste - but it is undoubtedly one of the best wines to drink with roast red meat or game. I'm more of a white wine person myself, and I absolutely love dessert wines!Heart

I've almost given up drinking beer, as it seems to disagree with me most of the time. However, I've tried some quality Belgian beers (like the ones Erik mentioned), and I have to say they're fantastic.

Heaven was drinking Chianti Classico with meats, bread, and the vineyard's own olive oil, on a patio looking out over the Tuscan hills.  My wife and I vacationed in Italy a few years ago, and it was the best trip I've ever been on, I don't think anything can top it.  I can't wait to get back.

We're also very fond of a particular Italian white called Vernaccia, also grown in that region.
