I've been playing guitar for 15 years now, but () I've never had what I'd call a "seriuos" band...my tastes are always hard to accept for the others, so it seems...anyway, I'm working on a couple of solo projects à la Joe Satriani.

right now I'm also in the band of a "theatrical company" (is that correct?), we used to perform "The Rocky Horror Show", it was great fun, now we're rehearsing for JCS, and I can't wait to get on stage.....

keep yourself free for October/November, we'll be in theatres!!! (in Sardinia)

just formed a two-man-formation with my hardrockin amigo. we are working on an album. our band has the project name ars magna (for it is an anagram of the word anagrams meaning great art). since there are just two of us we have to do all the instruments together. but i mostly play the guitar and bass. would be really cool to see our name on this site in the future hahaha

I play in a non-prog band. We sound like Thin Lizzy, Cheap Trick and T-
Rex...all at once.

Yes, I played electric and Acoustic guitars and supporting vocals.

I've downloaded six samples, and they're very short, but and it sounds interesting!  Melodical and a bit jazzy instrumental prog. Lot of improvisation.

Although I don't know much about guitars, I can hear on the sample of "The Journey Begins" that you can play very well!

There is: www.geocities.com/owlsounds/owlsamples.html

I also played in a band called Tony Island (as a bassist) that was a wacked mix of funk, biting Zappa-esque satire, early Yes and a dose of the blues. The instrumentation was

Tony Island: Keys, vocals, woodwinds

Tom Scotto: Drums, Percussion

and little 'ol me on bass plus a few Special Guest Villains, 'er we mean musicians.

www.tonyisland.com

We managed to get a CD out before quetly dissolving (Tony relocated to upstate NY). It was great while it lasted though, the gigs were fun and we dropped some jaws.

I play guitar and bass, a tiny bit of keys (onloy on my own stuff).

I released an all-instrumental CD in 2002 called "Tales From The Inflatable Forest" on my own Owl Sounds label.

Here's the site: www.geocities.com/theowlwatches

Quote Sounds like you need to see 2 bands, both of whom I know tour extensively in Europe:

The Grand Mothers - a collection of various ex Zappa musicians fronted by Napoleon Murphy Brock, who perform '70's era Zappa.

The Muffin Men - a group from Liverpool who perform a cross section of Zappa material & who are more often than not fronted by Jimmy Carl Black

Heard of them, but they're not coming to The Netherlands soon...

I used to play in few jazz-rock bands but the closest Icame to playing in a "prog" band is when I filled in for a few gigs with a Black Sabbath cover band. They had a female vocalist who did a pretty good Ozzy and she was just about as f**** up. This was years ago and all I really remember is being extremely wasted at the end of each gig.

bass and vocals in a non-prog band, though prog is my first love. I'm writing however and informally working with a few other guys on the songs. I also play guitar, drum a bit and am learning keys now.

we would never dare call ourselves a band and disturb our reputation as avant-garde "artistes," but I helped found a "collective: devoted to improvisation in light and sound in Minneapolis, called sensor re:engine.  the senses regard the engine, the engine re:engineers the senses.  armed with an enormous array of computers, synthesizers, ethnic percussion and woodwinds, and toy laser pistols, we try to raise human consciousness to the seventh sphere of heaven.

everything is improvised, even lyrics, and everything we've ever recorded is free in high resolution mp3 at www.waste.org/sensor

I promise that 75% of what's there isn't crap.
