Genesis 1970-1980 is the best decade ever put in by a prog band

Tull are excellent but in the end Ian Anderson is beaten by numbers

How wonderful to be so profound

It's funny how progger always has something crazy to say. Whether
it's "Genesis are just Yes wannabees with masks", "Fripp plays out of tune" or
"this site is a conspiracy for genesis fans."
One likes to believe

But glittering prizes
And endless Compromises
Shatter the illusion

Hey, when did I told you I don't own This Was, Stand Up and Benefit??????

I own the three, even made a review about Benefit (Something I never do without owning an album) and wrote several posts about This Was and Stand Up, as I told you I have every official album released by Jethro Tull (Every LP and every CD in the form of single or double album).

What I don't own are one or two Box sets (Two are enough for me 20 and 25 Aniv) and EP's, which I usually don't care about.

Well, Good night, it may be 12:00 am in Australia but is 2:00 am here.

To be honest, the avalanche of votes ceased when another member who shouts fraud and corruption left.

As if anybody gained money with this polls and reviews.

Wow, no new logins or posts and Tull keeps gaining more votes, seems Gentle Tull and/or Progger are having a lot of work

1.- Statistics don't lie if more people write about a band it's normal that more people are interested in them.

A tendencie to a tie can't change in 30 minutes with no new readers reported cassually when you rejoin

2.- If you log out and log in again you can vote twice in this poll and everybody knows that

3.- So Genesis fans have more times in their hands?? So you even kbnow how many hours I have to work, do you know the rest of the Genesis fans to affirm that? Don't be silly.

4.- As someone said before, the Adms have a feature that allows them to delete two reviews or votes made by the same user even if they change their nick, they use it always in the reviews section vbecause it's important for them, but I'm sure that they don'tgive a damn for this silly polls.

Still do not agree with you!!!  I'm not even a hardcore Genesis fan. Also, a lot of polls do allow multiple votes, like I said, I didn't know if this one did, but apparently it doesn't...IMO polls are still more flawed than reviews, votes are NOT filtered or accurately cast in polls some of the time.

I agree with Ivan, the polls are WAY more flawed than the reviews. I haven't voted on this poll yet (my vote would go to Genesis though...), so I don't know if it allows multiple votes, but I'm assuming it does...and a lot of polls are!!!

well  I think  plogger has  a  point  ..  and  he  articulates  it  well  .. my  opinion  is  just  my  opinion  .. but   looking  at  the  top 100  CD`s and  knowing  the  bulk  of each bands  music  very  well I can see many  flaws  that my  trained ears as a  long term proghead accepts  as the  truth  and if I was to use  that list as a source of buying music my CD collection wouldn`t  be reprosented in reality as a bona fide best 100 CD`s ever and ceretainly not in that order !   Tull  have  1  CD   in  the  Top ten  ..  genesis  have  three in  the  Top  Ten   by  that  rule  of  thumb    Genesis  should  have   3 times  as  many  votes  in  this  poll  ..  in  my  opinion ... but  they  don`t  infact  last  I  checked  Tull  was  in front  ..  the  system  is  flawed !!!

It's because the system is flawed. Some members have multi-log in handles and review an album numerous times. I have noticed Genesis albums given 5 stars by the same reviewers on occasions and any albums that are a threat to their position are given low rankings. Also note how many times Genesis albums have been reviewed in comparison to many others. The more five stars an album getes the higher it will climb up the charts. There should be some some way of working out averages! That way you will see albums like Tresspass and Nursey Cryme drop out of the top twenty like led balloons.

Why don'tyou think this polls are flawed, it's easier to vote twice here than to make two reviews in two different styles, since I have memory nobody has ever accused  reviewers here of being dishonest except you (And you have done it twice at least).

Read the posts and yiu'll find that only 25 posters in this thread  have expressed clearly their prefference for one of the two bands (in a post), and the result is

  1. Genesis 16..................64%
  2. Jethro Tull 9...............36%

Almost the double, so using the logic is easier to believe a lot of Tull fans have voted twice, because the statistics don't lie, in a higher universe of voters, as the top 100 it's much more harder to manipulate than a small poll like this one.

BTW: There's another fact, many Yes and other bands hate Genesis because it's almost as popular in Prog scenario as their favorite bands, but most Progheads like Tull and don't consider it a thread, so I'm sure that a lot of Yes fans will vote easier for Tull.

Sometimes using the brain is healthy.

Iván

BTW: Only Stomebeard, myself,  Progger and Gentle Tull have written replies in the last 60 minutes (The number of viewers of his thread reveals only 4 people have seen this thread since that moment), but suspiciously Jethro Tull has increased SEVEN votes in 30 minutes (more than 10% of the total voters in 1/2 hour and akll for Tull), Casual???? I don't think so.

Statistics don't lie, a notrmal poll keeps increasing but kepping the tendency, Tull and Genesis were almost equal, but since you joined again, wow, statistics went to hell

Progger the chart works on a complicated algorithim which is pretty fair, though not perfect.

And the site admins keep the reviews VERY well kept and monitored, there are no double reviews.

tull outtakes are nothing like the YES outtakes. Most of the tull outtakes are better than many of the songs on the albums they belong to and there are about 80 outtakes all together. I rank many of them among my fave tull songs. That's the reason why i made the tull site to prove the high quality of them, but not many in here believe me lol. Anyway, I think Thick as a brick and Heavy horses complete session surpass anything Genesis ever did, while Tulls 90s are better than any other 90s albums of any old band easily. I keep mentioning how the warchild outtakes make a much stronger album than the original and aqualung outtakes make a very good album, while Broadsword has 26 songs to choose from(but some arent too flash). The heavy horses and stormwatch outtakes are excellent, while Catfish outtakes are better than half the album too. Not to mention the first 3 albums outtakes are probably the best songs of those albums and many more . If you don't have the 20th ann 3 cd box set, then you're missing out on some great tull, but there are other releases with the rare stuff too
