and something that just came to me..

back in the early days of this site we did get mighty tight together in cases friendships that have spanned many years and expanded out of the internet and into real life.... and much of that was bonding through the music we liked.. be it prog or not.. but many of us got to know each other through the music we like.

I do consider that as much as who and what you vote for says a lot about yourself.. what you like in music can often say a lot about a person. In that..  in addition to the exploration of music i might like.. I find it interesting what people themselves like and suggest.

The best thing for me is reaching the, "Hey, I could've shared it if I had known." moment. My first pick made me think that. Clap

LOL shhh.. I have a well cultivated image to live up to here.. years of questionable tastes, idiocy and tomfoolery are invested into it..

and yeah.. it is all about the fun and the discovery.. listening to what others select and possibly really digging something you might not have heard before.

Next time I'll join with an electronic song. I had decided on that one before the voting for this began. It is not related to feeling like an outcast sharing metal stuff. I'm just sharing my favourite songs not included on PA, notwithstanding their genre. I might get some votes with that one, though. We'll see... Cool

there you go with that outcast crap again man LOL I'd have you know I really did enjoy that song you posted and consider it one of the finalists for my 3rd vote AngryWink

Micky is faking an idiot. You stop that crap first. Your it!1!!! LOL

In my 20s I would make it a problem and probably choose songs that would potentially get votes. But now, it is, if not purely, for fun. Star

yeah..  probably best I never touch another poll in my life considering the absolute train wreck I have made of this one LOL
Giving polls 10-foot distancing, are you?

yeah I fear I have slipped so far into trollling I have forgotten the basics of being a respectable forumite. Perhaps my punishment should having to write 5 various forms of Yes v. Genesis poll on a chalkboard.  The only things my freakshow attempts to do a multi option poll are missing are me doing Karoke versions of these songs while dancing on a pool table with serving you all up lines of blow and strippers..

male and female of course LOL

Some good tracks there.....chose these but liked something about all of them.

Stan Ridgway-  ( I liked Wall Of Voodoo in the old days...so..)

Planxty-  nice offbeat folky stuff

Tania Maria- Sade meets Steely Dan...? very slick....

Aww, thanks....but they deserve ALL the credit.  Oh, that would be a fun one, and much happier than suicidal writers!  Still making my mind up.  Should I go for things that made me laugh?  Or things that made me think?  Or things that got my gut?  So many decisions.

yeah but you get the credit for selecting it. Heart  Maybe I should have heard of them but I hadn't .. that was a new discovery so very much appreciated.

and I (noted previous thread's mini-rant) am about the gut...heart and soul kind of stuff. Embarrassed

Absolutely check out some of his other live videos, he collaborates with so many fabulous musicians in many genres.  His recorded music is also great, but I love his face when he plays, he's so happy.

And now I also have to listen to the rest of Tania Maria's recording.  I also first heard Seckou Keita on NPR, btw, they have some great music choices.

Marc-Almond ... the original studio recording from the album is over 10 minutes long!

I think this poll's closed now, but that is a fantastic song, one of my faves of the era.

yeah..

hey Pedro.. buddy.. I held this poll open for some time not just for the regulars but for new blood.  Tune in next weekend when the next one will surely be started by someone (Raff mentioned to me about starting the next) and get your suggestion in.

that said.. I'll take a listen to the ones you posted but no votes man.. trust me.. it is hard enough to choose with the ones we already had hahah
